Official 2010 National Jam Schedule
« on: December 09, 2009, 07:42:29 AM »
We can start organizing for 2010 jams here.

"A National Jam is an opportunity to gather the active members of a community and a chance to invite people from around the country to come train in the spots you've grown to love. A National Jam should teach people how to properly condition, teach people to train respectful of training spots and of the people around them, give rules for dealing with authorities and media, and take the chance to have a large in face forum to discuss Parkour in general." ~Q Manimal

Edit- "Since National Jams are such a great opportunity to have so many communities and leaders together in one spot, this year we should try to take advantage of that a bit more. Lets see more formal, organized, group discussions. Whether they're the first day, or maybe over dinner one night, we should really be making a significant effort to make these happen. Discussion topics could include anything from how parkour is developing, how it should be developing, how communities could be run better, the importance of strength and conditioning, or anything else you can think of! But these national jams are simply too important an opportunity for shared knowledge to let them slip by again without talking more."  - Zac Cohn

Community leaders, please post your jam plans and I'll try to keep my post updated. Admins and Mods, feel free to edit this post to add jams.

Try to include sufficient details or a link to the specific jam thread. Thanks!

California Jam Spring 2010 March 19 & 20 San Francisco Bay Area

Thread started on SFPK at http://www.sfparkour.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3474

To clarify, this is an open jam for anyone to attend.  Our focus though, as far as heavy promotion and travel help etc will be within CA.  If there's anyone who'd like to attend outside of CA, please post in the thread and we'll be glad to help you out individually!  8)

Washington Will definately be hosting a big Jam this year, we had great time this year and have lots more stuff we want to show people especially with Fact we have A gym now. No hard date yet, but probably late august like last year.

Brett or Brandon, is the fog mostly cleared up by March. I trip down around that time could workout for me, would love to visit again.

Just as a reminder guys - this thread isn't for just any jam. This is where you post if you want to host a HUGE jam that you expect a large number of people to come to. Please don't post up if you're not 110% sure your jam will happen - people are basing travel plans (and plane tickets) off this information.

There is fog year 'round in SF lol.  We will likely be doing UC Santa Cruz (you'll LOVE it there), sleepover at a gym + gym jam + BBQ, then 2 spots in SF + BBQ.  The weather patterns are so weird nowadays, last year March had the highest amount of rainfall ever, this year it wasnt so bad.  We still go out in the rain though.

There will be another "Massive West Coat Jam" hosted by BApk around the same time as the one last year (June-ish) and then another CA-wide Jam later in the year, so hopefully you can make at least one!

Id like to re-state Zach's post above, and remind you guys that this thread is to post FOR SURE jams, 100% sure jams, as people will be buying plane tickets and making plans to travel from across the country to go to. Im guessing it is also to help PLAN the jams. Please just try to limit the random city-calling-out to a minimum.

Just trying to help out :)

I'm excited to see that this is getting organized so far in advance.  If there are no objections, Indiana is planning on hosting the Midwest Jam this year.  We don't have a set date for it yet, but we are actively in the process of getting things together.  We are most likely looking at End of Aug- beginning of September. . More information to come so don't hold me to any specifics.

Just know...   INPK = midwest for 2010

Just a tip Pat - end of August is going to be hard for a lot of the students who would be in school then. I think the Midwest Jam has traditionally been in July. The East Coast usually dominates the national jams in June (beast coast (end of may), philly, nyc, chicago), and the West Coast usually in August (Colorado around the 10th, Seattle threw one at the very end of August last summer and Rafe just said they're looking at Seattle at the end of August again.

I'm not telling you when to host your jam, and the earlier you call it the better, just wanted to let you know how it's been in years past.

Hey Andy, guess you beat me to it this year. Any way you want me to help put this together just let me know. Last year I was busy pestering all the community leaders I could find to get as much information as soon as possible, if you think another Google Spreadsheet would be best I'd be happy to help make that happen. Let me know!

And of course - PKNY - Late June - I invite anyone reading to come crash at my house, BBQ, Hang out, and get some great training, near enough to NYC to get to all the good spots but far enough to have a yard full of boxes and walls and general fun, and new additions of a slackline and a climbing wall in my attic.

What are the chances of another jam being held in Florida sometime this year in Orlando or around there?
