Please answer a question, ty
« on: November 27, 2009, 12:42:48 AM »
i was just wondering, whenever i see traceurs they are really ripped, now im somewhat in shape, but i dont have a 12 pack and raging steroid back muscles like the guys around here, so i guess what im asking is do i need to focus on my core and strength and what not, or the skill and technique?

"focusing" on strength at the exclusion of technique is not an idea i would endorse, but I think conditioning is a necessary part of training. technique can take you far, but you can always augment that with strength.

Well, Ive become a bit more in shape from just practicing the techniques. Conditioning can only add to that I think. I say you should still practice the techniques a lot, but try out some conditioning during down time between trainig sessions. Thats what Im gonna start doing.

(OMG AN OUTSIDER!?!??!!) -- [i live in IL]

i think an hour a day is probably good (though it depends on where you are as far as fitness levels)

if you havent, subscribe to/start doing the APK workout of the day. start with the APK warm-up (theyve got you covered, lol) and if that totally wipes you then you can use it as your workout until it becomes only slightly trying (raise in temp/heart rate, and maybe a bit of sweat)

REMEMBER TO REST! rest days are important for your body to heal, gain muscle, and not have overuse injuries.

also
your question doesnt necessarily need to be in the local discussion. you would get more answers from an assortment of people if you put it in general fitness
