Iowa Parkour Jam 2010
« on: November 21, 2009, 08:36:36 AM »
Hey! I've read your guys' posts and agree with a lot of it. First off, the Jam. It will probably occur in spring or summer. That's because of weather, and school. I want everyone training everyday. That brings up point #2. Where to practice? Try to find a nearby park, or go to the big part of your city, usually downtown. If you get bored, make rules, for example: Get to the other side of the park without touching the ground, and/or without your hands. You can also try techniques you're bad at. Finally, the splitting of districts. I propose separating into 5 groups. Northwest, Northeast, Southwest, Southeast, and Central. That way, you'll be only 1-2 hours from the furthest traceur in your sector. So, what do you traceurs think?

The Jam will be in Des Moines. We will start at the Des Moines Public Library. Another thing, we should video tape what we do so that we can post our stuff and possibly get more people into parkour. The more people, the more fun and imagination.

Which library? Downtown?
Keep the posts coming; don't let the thread die. Also, be aggressive in sending messages to folks who've posted interest in jamming here in the past. We iowans, we don't really do much with good ideas.
...wouldn't wanna stand out...
but if you build it, they will come.

Alright thanks for the support guys. The next Jam is on the 24th of April at the Des Moines Dowtown Public Library. We got to get Iowa organized. I'm sorry for my delay, but parkour is a big part of my schedule. We're still coming up with a time, any suggestions? BTW in case you're late, call me at 515-210-1488 so that we can give you our current locations or come and pick you up. I'm proud of Iowa for having so many traceurs.

Aye, I'm totally new to this but it looks like I got on board just in time. I hope to see you guys on the 24th, then maybe I can get hooked up with some trainers.

I'll begin doing the APK Warm-up daily...

Holy buckets that warm-up is not easy even at it's minor.

I need a better place to do it, my local park seems to be the only place I can find a decent pull-up bar. Any ideas guys?

Also, Devils_Unit, I might text you tomorrow about this more.

JPFrye the workouts arent fure sure going to help you. your best bet is to figure out your own workouts. for example, i only do push ups, sit ups, and run. its all about what you feel will help you. but yea text me when you can. in the text, tell me youre a traceur and your name so i know.
