APK National Hotspots Map
« on: November 15, 2009, 02:32:45 PM »
With more and more sites trying to make world wide hotspot maps.  I feel its time to point out that the APK Hotspots Map http://www.americanparkour.com/content/view/2383/398/ has been around for for two years.  We already have a pretty good start but it is far from perfect.   It would be nice to have the comprehensive of training locations across the country.  This would include collages, street locations, gymnastic centers with open gyms that welcome us, and more.  So your friend is moving to a new town.  You know in between moving boxes into the apartment your going to have some free time.  So you hop on the computer and check out the APK Hotspots Map and find that there is this amazing spot just a couple blocks away.  In addition you find out there is a local parkour scene.  It would be a great way to meet new people and train in new locations.
The only way we can do this is with your help.  Lets really kick this into gear!!  All you have to do is answer six quick questions to make a Hotspot!
What does it look like? Instead of a description 3 to 4 pictures would be awesome!
Where is it?
Address?
What Obstacles can you find there?
How is the security there?
Which Days see the least foot traffic?

Optional: You can include how to get in touch with the local people who train there and if they would prefer to be contacted.

Then Email these to jereme@americanparkour.com

Keller Fountain, my friends and I train there all the time.

Its in Portland, Oregon
Intersection of 3rd and Clay
Walls to run up, precisions, vaults
No security at all, its a public fountain park
Barely any traffic on any day

If you wanna get in touch with the people that train there, we're at Revolution Parkour. :D

Nope! As long as you know the spot well and follow the format. ;)

If you get pictures and write up a description, I don't see why not.

Go out now and snap a few photos of your favorite training spots locally as well.  Well if its dark you might want to wait.  Best part is you can do this before or after you train there.  Come home answer the questions then mail them to jereme@americanparkour.com

Do we absolutely need photos because the U of M campus in Minneapolis Mn has great locations all over in a relatively condensed but large area.

What does it look like? Instead of a description 3 to 4 pictures would be awesome!Cameras broke, here's a street view. Click Here Go all around that sexy church
Where is it?Arnold, Pa
Address?1825 Kimball Avenue (It's on the corner of the 1800 block of kimball and freeport road.)
What Obstacles can you find there?Waist high rails for the average person. 11ft wall for running up. Longer vertical ones. Trees for climbing, lache, and pullups.Stair Set.
How is the security there?Never been bothered. Just be kind and leave if asked. Pastor saw me before and was like, "Oh, just like on the internet huh?" To which my reply was, "Yes, but with less practice."
Which Days see the least foot traffic? Most days but Sunday.

Optional: You can include how to get in touch with the local people who train there and if they would prefer to be contacted.

I'm not sure I trust putting out my number on the internet, sorry guys.

Edit: I fixed it, minus the last part.

2)Can you get the exact address of the Church?
3)Do you have an Address email or phone number who would we be asking for and what if you moved?
4)Have you mailed this to Jereme?

/Facepalm
2)Can you get the exact address of the Church?
I'll try, it's not on the building, the adresses in this area skip around, and google is very far off on it.
3)Do you have an Address email or phone number who would we be asking for and what if you moved?
Good idea.
4)Have you mailed this to Jereme?
Not yet, having others look over it first.
