Well, "menly" is incorrect grammar, but besides that... ;)
As Steph said, love/hate with this thread.  And also as Steph (and Rebecca) said, thank-you guys who are sticking up for us traceuses-your support really does mean a whole lot :D
I'll contain the big post I was building as I read the whole "women's bodies are different" argument and yes, (like everyone else said, so what?).
Ozzi, the cooking thing was a good point. :)

Lol. I think Shad0w is being more respectful in his posting than half the people on here :P. He's staying civilized, discussing his views, while some of you are just flipping s***. Everyone is welcome to express their views, just please keep it a bit more relaxed. :)

Also, I'm not sure much more has to be discussed about this. Please remember to read all the posts before you to make sure you aren't posting the exact same thing as something that was covered before. Feel free to post if you have something to add, however.

Thanks. :)
It does not matter how respectfully one expresses a racist/sexist viewpoint, it is still formed upon horrible, demeaning stereotypes.

The only support he has given to his statement is that “woman's bodies differ from men”, which is obviously an extension of the stereotype of women being “weaker” then men.

I highly doubt that if someone expressed the view that; black people should not train parkour because then they would always be getting away from the cops after stealing TVs, you would be so forgiving, no matter how nice they said it.

I think Most people on the board understand this and that is why they are trying so hard to figure out why he believes as he does.

First of all, I am not sexist in the least.

I have not "stereotyped" women. I am simply pointing out there is a difference between men and women's bodies.

Men naturally have more muscle and less fat content. Women are naturally more flexible in the pelvic area (for child bearing) and have more fat content. James says that "which is obviously an extension of the stereotype of women being “weaker” then men".

James, I am not stereotyping, but rather stating a fact.

Women can get into shape with light strength training, but once they get into heavy strength training and losing the natural extra fat content (and breasts) they start looking like men, which isn't appealing in the least.

As for my sources for this information? Please do your own research as I have.

Thanks and have a great day everyone.  :)

Also, I have changed my mind, parkour is for women.

I have changed my views on Parkour also.

Previously I had thought of parkour as intense strength training for the body. Now I think of it more as the art of movement.

I hadn't made myself clear in my previous post, I don't agree with women participating in intense strength training, it's unhealthy and unnatural.

^ Better.

Yes, as stated, there are differences between men and women but that makes no difference on a person's ability to train. This is due to the vast number of options for what training can be.

Your new point has been debated quite a bit. Personally--and this may hold for you too--I don't really care about the personal choices of others for the most part. This would mean that if I held your point of view, I wouldn't even say it since it was a personal choice of the person. There's more to it but I'll leave it at that.

It sounds like you mean you don't like those incredibly beefy women that you might see participating in competitions. This is fine, but I do not think it's a valid argument to take it as far as being unhealthy or unnatural.

Im glad you have changed you opinion and atleast argued your previous point but i do have one falacy in your arguement,    woman are naturally better than men at just about everything,   the birth of civilization has pushed women into a stereotype of that they are inferior, which is false,   and from that "men" of all cultures have pressed them into the "inferior role" so less women feel they can do those things,     nature is a prime example   the female is always much larger and much stronger than the male,

Yes, I should have added that I don't like the incredibly beefy men either, it's unnatural. :)

Finally!!! After countless hours :-Sarcasm of of reading these seven pages I think I'm finally ready to post, here it goes...

Ok so a lot of you have restated the same thing over and over again, frankly if you don't take the time to read the entirety of the thread don't take the time to post.

First off I believe everyone should be allowed to do parkour. But I do not think everyone has the capablilties to excel in this sport that includes men and women. Sure women are better than men at some things but this also goes vice versa. Anyways I'll get to my point, I believe it's fine for women to participate, but I don't find it fair that they are held to a lower level of standard. I think it's a joke when women get "sponsored" or get the "lime-light" shone on them just because they are doing something that much better people have already done. I find it to be a joke that a girl with half the repetior of tricks of another guy can get picked up while the guy is out there working his a$$ off trying to make his favorite activity his profession. Most of the "greats" of the women's world can't hold a match to the ones of the men's. I'm not saying that one day women won't be equal or even better than their men counter-parts. Think about equality and what it really means before you ask for it.

Also somewhere along page three or four I saw that someone wrote that women are discouraged to hold jobs such as acountant or the president. I find it funny that every time we see this argument it's always argued from the women's perspective. Here's a few arguments I could think of that some men would argue. Why can women be house wives but when we hear about a stay-at-home dad we think there must be something wrong with him or how about the fact that women can wear pants and suits but does the man have the same opportunity? When you really think about it men have much stricter social stigmas than women do. 'Tis crazy, no?

But there are a few perks about being a guy, for instance...
A guy is payed higher for doing the same work as a woman. A guy who is concerned with athletics is considered to be well rounded or talented while when a girl excels at a sport she is seen as just wierd. Crazy isn't it?

But there are a few things that are cool about being a guy, for instance...
If a guy sleeps with twelve girls in a week, he's a legend, but if a girl sleeps with more than two guys in a month she labled a slut, why? Let me say it this way, If a key opens a bunch of different locks it's a master key, but if a lock is opened by a bunch of different keys it's a shitty lock, think about it.  ;D ;D ;D

I got all excited cuz I thought you were about to make a brilliant point about double standards, but... not cool, dude. :/

it's a good analogy........................................ if you don't relate it to woman,    woman aren't keys and we aren't locks,    its just not a cool thing to say dude,   but you are right a key that opens lots of locks and a master key and a lock that can be opened by a bunch of keys is a shitty lock,    but that applys only to keys and locks.
