The Dash Vault?
« on: November 12, 2009, 03:24:52 PM »
I haven't really been trying that hard with it but just wondering about the way it's supposed to be executed. I've watched plenty of tutorials but it's been really uncomfortable approaching it with that jump and slightly leaning back if that makes any sense. Just wanted some tips and whatever else you have for me will be appreciated.  8)

I don't know man, about the uncomfortable part, but i guess that works the same for a kong except that you kinda lean forward. Just try it more. :)

:D I find the dash easier than the kong, but the kong gets you over higher stuff.

My advice: try harder, and stop telling people that you're "not trying very hard", because that's super lame.

I guess trying hard was another misused word on my part. I ment that I haven't been focusing as much on that vault as others.

Although if you're athletic enough you can still dash vault fairly high objects, I can dash vault up to mid chest level(obviously the kong will get you much higher though)

did you see this one? in my opinion its pretty useful because it kinda shows you how to get over your fear of failing and hurting yourself, and of course help you not fail and hurt yourself in the first place ;)

I got my first dash vault by progressing from a monkey vault onto a mid-torso level object, then swinging over it after coming to rest. Repeat it until you feel comfortable, then make it more fluid without touching the obstacle with your feet. Eventually, you may feel confident enough to do the full dash vault.

But now that I've stopped practicing it, I need to go through the progression again.  :P
