Palmspin

I know it isn't Parkour. I was just wondering is it the same as an aerial(A somkersault without hand) just next to a wall with your hands on the wall? Or do your hands help to spin you? Are you supposed to push off of the wall with your hands?

You're thinking of a Wallspin.

A Palmspin is generally on something like a rail, spinning over it.

Wallspin is spinning on a wall. Your hands are key in the move. It basically goes like this... Run up to the wall, Jump Up and slightly towards it, plant hands an spin while tucking your legs in.
Life is what you make of it.

You use your bottom arm as the axis you want to be spinning/rotating over, that hand stays on the wall the entire time. The top hand comes off of the wall after the jump.

No, in an aerial you drop your head to gain the spin, wallspins are somewhat comparable to sideflips in take off (but at an angle towards a wall), and the hands do what Christian said.

P.S. the top hand is used as a gauge for where the wall is compared to you, and keeps you from smacking your feet on the wall.
But for now just let it go
Don't run, don't rush
Just flow
