Hello!
Names John Smith (I hate to say that yes, this is my real name).
I've been wanting to do Parkour for a long time now, but never had the time or anything. Now seems like a good point in my life to start checking it out.
I live in Nashville Michigan (about 20 minutes north of battle creek) and travel to Hastings and Battle Creek fairly regularly. I've had no formal training in parkour, but I'm relatively experienced in martial arts, so my legs have some strength. I've started running on my own as a way to get myself ready for running with a group, but it's simply jogging and such.
Anyone in the area want to get together and work out sometime? Send me a message or whatever.

Hello everyone! My name is Taylor Lorentz from Blanchard, about 30 minutes south of Mt. Pleasent.
I just started off a few weeks ago, and it is pretty hard when you live in the middle of nowhere!
I've had no real training in anything that wasn't a video game, and decided this was the most fun thing I could think of to actually go out side. If there is anyone in the area that wants to train or something send me a message or something.

Hello, I'm Chad or most commonly Lenaric or Len.

I'm fairly new to parkour been working on my technique and strength alot the last couple weeks before I start branching out. I goto school at washtenaw community in ann arbor. Living in dearborn heights keeps me from being in ann arbor every day, so looking for some people closer to my homestead to have some fun with and maybe show me some decent areas to play in.

Hi all.  I just posted an intro of myself on the Welcome page.  I figured I'd link it up here too since I'm a Michiganian.

Hi all.  I just posted an intro of myself on the Welcome page.  I figured I'd link it up here too since I'm a Michiganian.

Didn't read through your entire welcome, as I have other things I have to get to. Skimmed through it. Lots of experience with things, great discipline. Welcome to the APK Forums, even more so to the ever so slow state-forums. Michigan.

However, Rochester Hills has some pretty awesome guys who I'm sure would be more than happy to have you train with them. (As well as nearby areas, like Macomb TWP where I'm at for the Summer).

So... We're actually having a State Jam in Rochester near the end of May, so check out that thread.

Yes Jake, I do get joy in bringing people together and spreading PK.

I'm assuming that is a rhetorical question, seeing as thats all I've been trying to do since I came to Western. Getting all these people in Kalamazoo who are interested. Spreading the joy of Parkour.

Its all in a day's work.

Do you enjoy the fact that I bring people together? I mean, we train together, meet new people, and have a blast. It rocks, doesn't it?

Finished my last final this morning. Chyeah.
Sorry I have to leave K-zoo today and head back to Macomb.

Ciao.

Edit: Do you enjoy (I'm going to assume here) posting things to help other people with uhh... workouts and understanding their body and all that sorts of jazz? Just realized how high your post count got up in such a short time. I bet you do enjoy it. I bet you do! Ahh Jake likes helping people. xD
 :P ;D ;D ::) :P :P [WTF]

Hey guys, I'm Drew from Okemos/East Lansing
I'm not in a clan or anything, and really don't know of anyone else around me that does parkour...
I'm pretty new to parkour as well, just started a couple months ago, so still got a ways a ways to go (which isn't a bad thing in my opinion :D )
uhhh I go to State but live close enough to it so I'm pretty much always around here.. I'm looking for a gym nearby to start more legitly training, so if anyone has any insight as far as that goes, that'd be much appreciated. But mostly good to be here, hope to meet a lot of you and keep training and getting stronger and better!

Hey, Drew, welcome to the forums. You go to State, eh? Nice. It's nice to see more guys training. As for a gym to train at, I live in Ann Arbor, so I'm not familiar with the Lansing area. I have been to Lansing itself, though, and I have seen some pretty nice spots to train around the Capitol and the Michigan Historical Museum.

Have fun training,

Brandon

hey Drew, what's up? I go to Michigan state as well, so hit me up in the fall and we can start doin some training.

As for gyms to go to, I go to Red Cedar Gymnastics for their open gyms every saturday. I have to bike there but it's only about six miles south of campus so it doesn't take long to get there. Half hour bike ride max.

Jenison Fieldhouse has a gym on the third floor as well. You can do 1 credit kinesiology classes to train there twice a week, and the women's team has an open gym once a week as well for like five bucks. Hope that helps!

I train on MSU campus usually 2-3 times a week.  Not sure the schedule for next fall, but starting in a few weeks I'll be back in town and training again.

Hey, Nate. Cool. Summer is probably the best time to get into FR/PK. Have fun training.

Hey, Griffin. That's neat that you have done/tried a few things. It's nice to have a little taste of the movements before training a lot. Hopefully, you will get pretty good.

Hey All

I'm Ross
Training with Matt Z at the moment, looking to get together with the U of M Parkour Club in the fall or perhaps over the summer if they're still active.
I've known about and studied Parkour for a little less than a year, but I haven't really gotten to training until recently.
Looking forward to meeting some of the famous Ann Arbor Traceurs.
