I also wasn't saying that organic meats are not high in fat.  I was saying that if he bought organic (which we now know does not apply to his meat choices) then meats, which are high in fat, may not be as cost effective for him than for you.

Grammar does have its place doesn't it?   :)  (and no I'm not referring to your grammatical skills, but how I could have done better in my post...)

My whole point of posting was to show according to where you live and your dietary needs a person's diet will vary greatly and thus may not be another person's idea of a perfect diet. I can afford our outragous fruit and vegetable prices because most of my meat I get for (near) free. Everyone has boundries to overcome some are due to location, some physical and some economical.

om nom nom.... braaaainnnnnns!

Goat and sheep's brains are a Russian delicacy, IIRC.

Sounds kinda crazy to me. I shop for my own groceries and my grocery bill went down significantly when I cleaned up my diet.
It may seem so on the surface, but you realize it's actually quite cost effective and also learn to shop smarter.

I suggest sticking with it and doing your best to clean your diet up with whatever resources you have.
:D

I've had a similar experience. When you really begin to break down you shopping, you see that it is the processed items (PB, jelly, bread, etc) that cost the most with dairy being another contributor. I just go to the farmer's market each week to get some great deals (not to mention the best food) and then just shop for produce and protein at the grocery store for the remainder of the week. It is important to shop for what is in season though. Not only will it usually be significantly cheaper, but the quality of the food will be much better as well.

yeah its true about the no one size fits all diet. I know that i eat unhealthfully but despite that bread and cereals are probably my favorite foods and making a change to give them up is quite a daunting decision. I guess ill just try and make a slow progressive change to my diet as it seems like the best choice for me.
