but I need more carbs. I only eat oatmeal in the morning and a few from the veggies I eat. I need more carbs to maintain muscle mass. What's a good source of carbs that isn't shitty for me. It would increase my calories too which need to go up.

Fruit, veges, oatmeal is fine.

Whole Milk is a good one... for everything if you're not allergic.

Wheats(preferably whole) and starches. Stuff like toast, rice, pasta, and potatoes are loaded with carbs. Also any sugar is going to have carbs so fruits like apples and oranges are great for healthy carbs.

I'm just going to make a thread called what would Steve Low do, and all the questions will stop.

What's a good fruit or vegge high in carbs or a wheat that isn't bad for me. Brown rice?

Fruits are great carb sources. Vegetables can vary: corn has more carbs than something like carrots or spinach. You will have to start checking nutritional data on your own for the foods you eat.
Nutritiondata.com
Potatoes are a good source of carbs, I would also recommend eating the skin of the potato as it is full of fiber. Another great source of healthy carbs are beans. You can mix beans in with your vegetables if you need to.

Always choose fresh fruits and vegetables over their canned counterparts, but if your budget doesn't allow for this, buy cans without syrup or with as little syrup as possible.

As far as grains go, you want to eat whole grains (steel-cut oats are a good example, avoid instant oatmeal). For grains you want to emphasize high-fiber, whole-grain, multi-grain, low glycemic index (GI) sources. These are complex carbohydrates and will give you a better slow-burning energy during your day.

If you try to eat them...

That's why most of us recommend Paleo... because most people have at least some allergic reaction to said stuff above.

Just eat more fruits and vegeables dude. Can't go wrong with that. Anything you like. Preferably a variety. Berries are very good.

Really? It's an allergic reaction people have? Wha... Huh. Could you link me some articles, or maybe just share your wisdom on this Steve?

Low level inflammation.

Most people do well on less grains and such.

Check out Robbwolf.com or any of the other Paleo sites.
