Cross training/ Mental health for Parkour.
« on: July 24, 2010, 11:10:44 AM »
Hey pk community, not sure if anyone remembers me or not? Haven't been to the forums here for quit a bit cause i've been outa the game for so long, 9 months actually from my ankle JOINT shattered doing a cast bomb lol.  But back to what i wanted to ask you all is; do any of you guys do yoga or have some kind of mental meditation that you practice to reach your full potential in PK or just your lives in general?  Because as we all know, what we do is 50% mental and 50% physical ballance.

I've also had a lack of motivation as well associated with the the depression I developed to to my rather major injury. So if any you have some words of insight for me to overcome my depression and anxiety I'd greatly appreciate to hear some support from this every growing sport...

Much love, Patrick Holten.  Here's my video from 3 years ago, but i've been at it for 5 years now. : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aiviEs4zmNo

Thank you!!!

hmm well welcome back.
I try to do 30 min of meditation a day (the breathe in breathe out kind)
and i guess it helps, I mean I feel more calm, as well as more confident
in everything. I dont know about the physical side or whatever but meditation helps
me in parkour and life. I recommend it, and its cool too 8)
