Making Vault Boxes?
« on: October 08, 2009, 04:49:17 AM »
I would like to build vault boxes like Primal Fitness has so that IPK can train during the winter.  Does anyone have measurements/materials used so that I can build them?

So we do fundraisers, Hannah! Your church might have some extra wood that we can use, too?

-Ask around :)
-Do we have enough guys at the High School to have a bakesale? Ms. Hess'd probably let us do it.
-Cheap t-shirts.
-Vault-a-thon

Anyone else have any ideas?

haha, vault boxes aren't hard to make, just draw something up on paper, and make sure you have supports within the frame.. something like this worked for me:

That's the frame, it looks the same on all sides, just put 3/4 inch plywood on each side. You might not need a frame this sturdy, but i'm pretty heavy at 200 lbs and wanted to play it safe.

that's basically what I did...  I just built a Saw-Horse and then reinforced it like a mofo...  also, we built a square box and did the same thing...  not TOO difficult, but sometimes you do need some guidance schematics

I have a lot of room in my back yard for vault boxes if I had some. I could fit a good 20 or so...it would be like a playground in my backyard :o

You include info on getting scaffolding setup at home, or anything of the like and I will definitely buy that.

Soon is hopefully in the next two weeks, and yes, the video will be $25 and include some vault tutorials as well as complete, step by step instructions with measurements and tips and tricks.

While I can't guaranty that this will save time or money for a master carpenter, for the average guy it will save you at least $60 and 4 hours, so I'd say well worth $25, plus you end up with a much better box.
