SF Parkour would like to share our DIY vault box construction diagrams and instructions with the parkour and freerunning community.  Brian "NoSole" Orosco designed the box and YouTube helped build them for the Live! event we did with them.  They worked out great!  You can see them in action here.

It says #(number) (number)x-(number)"

Is it like # means just the step.

2x/4x/6x means the number of them you need.

20"/26"/28" means how long it needs to be?

(#2) = Piece ID #, to reference in the diagram.
4x = 4 pieces
- = of 
24" 2x4 = 24" piece of 2x4 wood


Its really a bunch of 2x4s, a 2x6, and then plywood sheets.  Hopefully fairly cheap!

Also, just another question.  If I wanted to make it taller, would braces work on this?  36" tall seems kind of short.

You could probably add ~6-8" and modify all the vertical parts.  A foot higher - not sure.  This was very stable in all directions at this height, the taller you make it the less stable it will be.  Maybe just set it on top of a bunch of cinderblocks?

Pshhht! You don't need to go through all that trouble just to make a vault box. 

When I was making mine, I asked my carpenter if we needed to add a reinforcing wooden frame inside. He said it wasn't necessary, and the way he would make it, it would be strong enough to take a lot of impact. So all we did was take some plywood sheets and join them together, overlapping each other, and secured them with nails and long screws. We've been jumping on it a lot (not just vaulting over it), and it seems to stand its ground.

While I don't really have any construction diagrams or blueprints of the thing, I guess one look at these pictures will make its construction clear.

Nope, we're not that rich, lol.
That was a top Bollywood actor that got them to come down and convert his old penthouse into his personal parkour gym. Then he got Danny Illabaca to come down to train him in his new playground as well.

Mine is in the making! I cut most of the dimensions in half (except height). I will post pictures or a video link when its done! all it needs is some plywood sheets.
