Twisting fast?
« on: October 21, 2009, 05:54:04 PM »
I watch the tricking videos and I see them all spin at like 10 times per second and it's insane. How do you get to be able to spin that fast? I know you need to torque your body, but how do you do that?

Thanks,
Swap

Looks fast, but a triple cork (3 full rotations) is the most landed flat currently. There may shaolin monk practitioners of wushu that can do more but I know of none. But all it is and bringing your arms in and torquing. Nature takes it from there.
Aren't we all running?

try looking over your shoulder. example: if your spinning clockwise look over your right shoulder.
This works for me, my freind who is a pro skater taught me this.

The common technique is to set the arms way off to one side, and then when you want to start spinning, bring both fists to the same shoulder (the one opposite the side you're setting).

Depending on the twist/your style, you can also try setting similarly, and then bringing your far hand to your opposite hip, and your close hand around to your butt.
