Gabe, you've really inspired me. Keep up the good work!

I'm thinking on copying the chapters and pasting them to a note on my ipod so I can read them whenever I want, is that ok?

@ Dan - You're very welcome, I'm glad you enjoyed it so much! :)

@ Zach - Go right ahead, just be sure to list my name as the author and APK/The Freerunner as the place it was first published.

And news for everybody else - The next chapter is finished but you might have to wait longer to see than before. Janine will make a full announcement soon but The Freerunner is taking a small break to rework and revamp itself.

In the meantime though, I'm going to take all the published chapters and put them into a single downloadable PDF, with grammar errors fixed and maybe even some illustrations! Stay tuned!

Ah jeez, please guys, don't call me "bro" that makes my ears bleed haha.

The next issue of The Freerunner is TBA, we're doing some reworking and revisioning. BTW, only 2 people contributed content for the proposed latest issue. Know what that means? You guys gotta submit stuff! Anything! Pics, videos, articles, comics, anything! You want issues, make 'em!

BUT...Janine is kind enough to put up the latest RISE chapter without the magazine. It should be up in Creative Writing within the next few days.

I'm currently going back through all the chapters and editing them for grammatical mistakes. Also, I'm reworking certain sections I wasn't satisfied with. All of this is so I can make a downloadable PDF file for everyone that includes the 14th chapter.

I just finished revising Chapter 1, I'm planning to have it all done by the end of the week. The story currently takes up 75 pages in a Word document (that's 38,500 words) so you can imagine this is an involved process. Please be patient and know I won't leave the story incomplete.

And remember...BUY SHIRTS!  ;D

EDIT: CHAPTER 14 IS UP! http://www.americanparkour.com/content/view/5388/408/

Did you base Andre on a real person?

Andre is arguably the most "original" character in the story in that he's not modeled after any one particular person. I pulled pieces of him from everywhere: a personality that's like a toned-down Gambit from the X-Men and a clothing style like Johnny Cash (all black). He was kind of meant to be a supernatural figure, a living legend, to parallel what JK was like when he was alive. Sort of like how people like Danny Ilabaca and Oleg Vorslav seem to tower over others in terms of skill. So good it almost doesn't seem real.

The only trait of Andre taken from a real person is his dreadlocks, which I got from Oliver Thorpe in this video. (Even though he's since cut his hair.)
