Well, after practicing quite a bit yesterday on my kongs, my left knee has started to pop more forcefully. I was practicing kongs, cat leaps, and precisions yesterday, and didnt feel anything until after I woke up today. I didnt hurt my knees in any way while practicing, and all felt fine during the practice. The training session wasn't my longest one, and I did do a full range of stretches prior to even thinking about doing a vault, as I always do.
A little background though: I used to be an avid paintballer, used to ref for about 3 years, so my knees already were taxed a bit. I also had VERY flat feet, as in, I had to have shoes with no arch to walk right - that coupled with hard rocks and paintball meant some damage was done. Also, I smashed into a small bump one day with my knee, which hurt SO bad. Had it checked, nothing too bad, had to quit physical activities for some time to let it heal.
About 2 years later, I have a pop in my knees, not really audible, doesn't cause pain, but I have always have it, same with my mother and grandmother. The popping is more annoying because it feels creepy... The pop usually happens after I squat down past 90 degrees.
Well, back to the current problem. I woke up, my left knee pops, like the patella feels like it pops quick, not audible, but creepy feeling none the less. The tendon between the tibia and the patella aches when I walk up or down stairs, but only then. I can still run just fine, move, whatever, but its still sore.
In short, although my knees have always had a little pop, it feels more poppy today (I can feel its like an air pop, nothing grinding) with some tendon aches. What could it be and how do I treat it, possibly prevent this happening in the future.
