Parkour Group in Chicago Needs Trainer and Saved
« on: September 25, 2009, 12:09:21 AM »
Hey Traceurs I got a big fish for someone to bite down on if they want to and it involves Parkour with a lot of Traceurs wanting to get trained in Parkour as well in Chicago. There is a group of 36 traceurs in a Chicago called the Chicago Area Parkour and Freerunning group that just lost the person that trains them and the website is going to shutdown the group and remove their website if no one steps up to be the leader of the group and is willing to train people in Parkour. Its free to join the website that the group is hosted on which is Meetup.com but they charge when you want to start your own group using their website or when you take over another group. Once anybody is the organizer of the group they can change anything that they don't like about the current site used by the group (including their name if you like) to their liking but its like $20 a month to keep it going and hosted on their site. I'll provide a link to this group's website and if anybody is interested with taking over this group and basically having a 36 traceur group under their control can take over the group and help out the members of the group still do Parkour. The group only has 6 days left on Meetup before it is removed from the website for good so anybody that wants to have a great deal of traceurs to train with and wants to get more traceurs in the Chicagoland area this is your golden ticket.

Well, we do almost all of our communication off of http://chicagoparkour.net

Ok, I extended it by three months and changed some of the details to forward people to our website.  I might send out a group e-mail so everyone gets the message as well.

Hey Cody if you like and I got this idea from a MMA gym called Counterstrike MMA Academy that also has a website of their own and still uses Meetup.com to get new members. Basically you can copy and paste all of the latest events from ChicagoParkour.net on Meetup.com as a meet up because when people belong to a group on Meetup.com and the organizer sets up a meet up all of the members get an e-mail to let the organizer know if they are going to be showing up to the event or not so that the organizer can plan ahead of time.

Hey its going to be active for a few months why not use it and you can get more traceurs to show up to the events that ChicagoParkour.net lists. I'll provide a link of what I'm talking by using Counterstrike MMA Academy as an example of how you can use ChicagoParkour.net's events to help you get some more people to show up to their events by using Meetup.com as another way of advertising their events. Also I'm a member of the old group but now that I've found some traceurs out here in Northwest Indiana I don't have to go all the way to Chicago or its suburbs to train in Parkour but I wish the best of luck to you as the new organizer of the group.
