Stephen's log
« on: September 24, 2009, 09:51:59 PM »
greetings everybody!

My name is Stephen and I'm a traceur that currently moved to provo utah. Unfortunately because of work, getting married recently and just getting over a stab wound in my leg I haven't been able to train in a whiile and frankly.. IT SUCKS!!! So here's my attempt at a training log in order to motivate myself to train more and explore my new urban surroundings.

My goals are:

- practice my basics again. Due to inactivity my muscles and joints are outof shape and unconditioned. I need to get those back to a razor sharp edge . Hopefully a nice dose of exercise and training will help me do that ... which brings me to my next goal.
-make a bare bone workout regime that includes three days of training PK. Another side effect of being out of the game.. you gain weight. I currently weigh 160 and I use to weigh 155 with 9% body fat. Unfortunately my workout building skills suck.. so any help with that would be wonderful. oh my next goal would be wonderful too!
-Find a partner to train with. Before hand I was training with my wife, she really would like to continue, but school and work and homework are her cruel task masters and are keeping her at bay. I've contacted the local PK group and they have failed to establish a training time that hold up . they usually either change locations , dates, or times on a whim making it hard to track them . I'm hoping I can get some of my friends in the area to join.

well those are my goals for this week. I will continue to post my results, trials, and endeavors with you.. if you have any info or sugguestions please post them.. but pleas try to becourteous to both me and other people who post!
Thanks!
Stephen

Sept 26th

Today was really hectic.. I didn't really get to do much in the way of working out. More like just work. I worked from 8 am to almost 6 pm.  Being a chef has it's down sides. lol The cook part was durring my break I found a cool rail system and practiced some rail work and some balancing tech. After work I went home. My wife and I called a couple of friends ( of which had showed prior interest in this art) and we took them to get some braces for there knees (they needed them) and we scheduled weekly practices and training. What's even cooler is that my wife is really embracing the philosophy and is starting to get more passionate about training! ^_^ Other than that. I did a few vaults as I walked through the mall and I did 50 pushups before bed.

All Right first day training with my new group. I was uber excited! I mean, what could go wrong.. lol Well.. First my frind called and said he causght the flu, then my other friend and my wife bailed because they had school related things.. So I was left to myself. Happily enough I got alot of training in. I did The APK warmup , followed by 2 minutes of gorrilla gallops, 2minutes of quadrepedal movement, 2 sets of 5 kips, 20 minutes of training under bars, 3 sets of 10 laches, and 10 sets of 2 minute sprints. When I got home I stretched out and called it a day.

Ugh.. not to much today I feel uber sick to my stomach, I think I ate something bad. definately not a good condition for training..Hopefully tomorrow goes well.

Stretching shouldn't be that painful. It shouldn't hardly be painful in any way... You might want to re-evaluate just how you're stretching if it is.

There are times when you want to break down and rage at the heavens. Don't. Stay calm, and let the emotions flood in, accept them and then rise above them. Never dwell. Don't fear or worry. Anything worth thinking about is worth talking about. And... Good luck.
