Hey Zayn I stay in Lake Station and I was always interested in Parkour but never could find anybody to work with me out here that also had an interest in the martial arts too. I will admit this to you though I suck I never did any Parkour in a day of my life but I like that Parkour increases your agility to a level that is uncanny and god like. I just joined this website because I was looking for some traceurs that have an interest in the martial arts that also stay in NW Indiana too. I also started a group on a website called Sportsvite.com looking for people to work with my desires but no luck (I think that is a really good blend martial arts training with Parkour don't you?). I'll provide a link to my group (it sucks I know but I'm the only person from the NW Indiana area that even has a group on that website!!!!) so that you can check it out and if you want to talk to me about working together hit me up.

Hey Ronin,

There are a lot more of us here to train with you. We have training sessions in hammond every sat, usually from 1-4, and I personally wouldn't mind going to lake station to train. Martial arts/Parkour is a very common mix, I have trained in both deffiantly see a carryover from discipline to discipline. Sainaa I belive has martial arts experience, as well almost every member of the group down in bloomington.

Then we can come to you. I have not personally skoped out lake station, but seeing as how PK is a community like no other,
I think there's really no reason that we should not have met up already. Please PLEASE give me a call when you are free. It is much
easier for you to call me than me to you because you are in high school and therefore your time is taken more than mine is. Your schedule
is more hectic than mine, so calling me would be easier for us to schedule something.

I just called and met up Joshua from Highland. I know Lake Station is farther out but it's not that bad.

If there are interested people in LS, then by all means I would love to come by and skope out the area,
meet you, and hopefully you will be able to meet everyone else in our tight-knit community. I see no reason why not.

Aladdin is certainly right. We come to you, and you come to us.

I never had any training in Parkour Zayn because I always wanted to have someone more experienced in Parkour teaching me so to be honest you guys are going to have a good laugh watching me practice and falling on my a$$ making an idiot out of myself the entire time I'm training with anybody. But I like that how Parkour makes its practitioners so agile and since traceurs are known for being able to jump great distances, along with being able to climb up places that most normal people can't go, and still remain uninjured made me always wanted to incorporate Parkour into my martial arts training. Also I'm quite innovative and smart from the business standpoint and I wish that there was someone that stayed here in NW Indiana that not only was interested in Parkour but the martial arts as well because they would agree with me from knowing the area that there are no Ninjitsu schools out here. Well, to be short and brief not only do I want to get really good at Parkour for my own benefit I wouldn't mind opening the very first Ninjitsu school out here that combines martial arts training with Parkour which none of these martial arts schools out here do. Then to keep everyone at the top of their game and to feed into any kind of person's desires for training with us not only does the school engage in fighting tournaments (from traditional martial arts tournaments like Karate and Tae Kwon Do to even more tougher tournaments like MMA and Brazilian Jujitsu) but the school also engages in Parkour tournaments (G4 is suppose to be showing a Parkour tournament really soon plus numerous traceurs have been on Ninja Warror too) as well for people that don't like to fight but still would like to show off their "ninja" skills. I'm not trying to make anyone join up with me on my business venture because I'm getting all of the tools together to do so myself plus I respect other people's goals in life too but if anybody is willing to work with me involving teaching me Parkour hit me up on my e-mail ronin7411@yahoo.com and let's talk and see whats up. Also Aladdin I don't know if you're the same person I saw on this website called Meetup.com if you're not I'm sorry about the confusion but I saw that you were interested in Parkour and that your profile had Ninja down on it as an interest and I contacted you through e-mail from Meetup to talk about working with me to do some Parkour training and to train in Ninjitsu as well. I can provide a link of what I'm talking about and I've also contacted some people as well that were interested in Parkour that stayed in our area but no one ever got back to me I'll provide links to them too maybe you guys might know some of them.

That be tight if you could come out here NoRush and it be even better if you could bring some people. like i said though, to my knowledge there's ok spots but no "good" spots. ill look around before i contact, Ive been wanting to go scouting any ways. also we may meet up with ronin. and if your willing to drive here or get here somehow would you be interested in hitting up portage or valpo maybe even hobart and marivile.
- ronin ive been intrested in pretty much what you described. will you be makeing your own style or using ninjusu moves? i could help, i know a decient bit about Karate, Judo, japanese jujitsu, Tkd, hopkido, and im currently striving at the art of cnctema (along with parkour). no promises but i dont see why not. let me get your # and ill get back to you sometime.

Valpo and portage are too far for me, personally.
Merrillville I've been to a couple times...I'm not sure about Hobart.

Well see the thing about you telling me there are no "good" spots, I cannot
put stock in.  :) It's because you've been training fo how long, 5 months.
Your vision takes much more time than this to actually "see" whether there
are environments with mny obstacles/oportunites for displacement and expression.

Now, it might just turn out that there are no "good spots".  :-X But it's def. a good idea
to not make such a statement at your level of experience. I used to say that very same thing
about Hammond, and it turns out, it is the most populated area of spots in this region of NWI
tied with Highland.

Zayn, my base is going to be Black Dragon Ninjitsu (its the most affordable martial arts course out there for only $50 and I personally know the instructor) but I'm going to mix things up with TKD, (love their aerial kicks),Tang Soo Do, (can't forget Chuck Norris' fighting style LOL!) Karate (preferably Shito Ryu and Black Dragon Kenpo), Judo (for its bone jarring throws), Jujitsu, (both Japanese and Brazilian for ground fighting and because you can't do Parkour when a guy is on top of you punching and elbowing your face in), Hapkido, Aiki-jujitsu, (both for their joint locks and effortless throws) then Okinawan Kubudo, and Kali/Escrima (obviously for the weapons). I'm not trying to convert people to my style either I believe in cross training into other styles of the martial arts as well because I would watch Jackie Chan movies and would see him do Parkour in his movies while he fought so I know that not every person is going to want to study the same styles as I do but I'm willing to help them out with mastering their styles of the martial arts along with doing Parkour. An example to give Zayn is since you're training in Systema (by the way love I love Vladimir Vasiliev's training videos on Systema http://www.russianmartialart.com/catalog/default.php?cPath=22 ) after we do some Parkour training together I can help you out with your Systema training and you can help me out with my martial arts training as well. Also just in case if anybody else wants to do what I'm talking about with mixing martial arts in with Parkour but wants to study another style that is different from us hey after Parkour training we can help each other out with studying our own prospective styles of the martial arts despite the fact that its totally different from the styles we study. I also have a big list of martial arts home study courses in which all you do is tape yourself performing the moves with a willing partner and send it to the instructor to be graded for your belt ranking the courses range from everything that a person likes in the martial arts. Like if a person wants to do Wushu (Jet Li's fighting style) they have a home study course for that style as well as for 5 Animal Kung Fu too but this is the catch not all fighting styles offer home study courses like I know that there is a Capoeria school in Chicago but I could never find any home study courses available for someone that wants to do some Capoeria training. (Send me an e-mail for any styles that you guys want to study all of the styles that I want to study have home study courses out for them so the industry might have a home study course available for the style that you want to study) I'm going to be home all day because I got to study for my classes for Kaplan and do some homework for them (Aladdin, I notice that you got a Purdue Calumet e-mail address what are you majoring in ? Me I'm going to Kaplan on Indianapolis Blvd. for a Bachelors in Private Security but right now I'm on online courses because some of the students in my classes stay out of our area) but my phone number is 219-962-3712 sorry people but I can't call long distance because I'm tight on money and for some weird ass reason Hammond, East Chicago, Schrellville (?), Whiting, Lowell, and Valporaiso are long distance for me. I'm going to post my schedule so that we can meet to do some Parkour but after 6pm I got to do some homework and go to classes and this is a first to me but Kaplan has classes on Saturday and Sunday I'm also going to post when I workout at World Gym in Highland as well for everyone to have a general understanding of my schedule. When you guys are ready to meet up drop me a line and we can do some Parkour training plus you guys get to watch me make a total ass out of myself by trying to do some Parkour but I'm willing to do what it takes to master Parkour and the martial arts.

Sun: 11am-12pm Church (Pastor is giving me free Tae Kwon Do lessons as long as I show up to church every Sunday for a hour)

Mon: 9am-10am Tang Soo Do training (the guy is a cool instructor but I'm not waiting 20 years to earn a black belt when with a home study course I can earn my black belt in a few months and get a higher rank than he is which is a 3rd Degree Black Belt)

Tues : 9am-10am Cardio Karate (its like Tae Bo or P90X I'm doing that to increase my Cardio)

Wed:  9am-10am Cardio Karate

Thurs: 9am-10am Cardio Karate

Fri: (Nothing that day just homework and classes for Kaplan)

Sat: 10:30am-11:30am Tang Soo Do training and 12pm-1pm Tae Kwon Do training

you've got great ambitions but you cant replace years of study with a few months of home training. to become truely proffient you must train for a long time. im sure you know this already, though. also NoRush and some of his group is gona try and come train with my team in 1-4 weeks ill let you know so we all can train.

Zayn, I understand what you are saying and I agree with you you can't beat years of expertise and training but involving the martial arts and I think this is the shortcoming of most martial arts schools and why they can't hold on to students for a longtime which I'm going to be the first to do this as an in person school.

Most martial arts schools have a time in training requirement before a person can test for their ranks in the martial arts that they are studying (like you must train with us for 6 months before you can test for this rank) but me since people learn things faster than the next person does I'm going to base my rank tests upon how fast can the person learn the techniques properly.

If the person can learn that belt's techniques in 2 months I'll let them them test for it and if the person takes 6 months to master the belt's techniques cool with me I'll let the person progress at the level that they feel comfortable with if they can learn it fast good for them if it takes a little longer I understand.

Basically you'll progressive in the martial arts by your own dedication to studying the material on the style you're studying and your own natural ability to learn the material to test for the ranks. That is why I like martial arts home study courses for if I can master the techniques really fast I can avoid the time in training requirement and quickly test for my belt ranking as soon as I master the techniques. I'm ready when you guys are just drop me an e-mail or call me at my phone number when you guys are going to meet up to do some Parkour and I'll be there. (I looked out for you too Aladdin I used paragraphs for this post  :D)

It matters not if the other practitioners are motivated or not, mon ami, it matters simply if you are motivated or not.
Train by yourself. This has many advantages over training in a group. If you can motivate yourself, what else do you need in
life to be successful!?  :) And I know you can see things, hahha.  ;D I'm saying that with more experience comes with more "vision", or, the ability to see things. Your vision is no where near where it could be, and hopefully will be, in the near future (depending on how consistently you train). Take this not as a knock against you, but rather something to look forward to.

There is no other way of evolving your vision than by simply training day after night after day after night and eventually your creativity will expand as well.
