vault flip
« on: August 02, 2006, 12:19:03 PM »
Just wondering if anyone had any footage, can do, or has seen somone do this. What it is is you go and do a kash or kong over a ledge with a drop, but after you clear the ledge you do a backflip.  Sorta like a vault to gainer thing.

Im pretty sure no one has footage of this because no one was stupid enough to try it.

I don't think it would be stupid at all.  You just have to make sure you get good post-vaulting momentum!  As soon as I can get to a gym I'm trying it.  so nyah :P ;D

It seems pointless, to me. And also sounds very difficult.

In a gym I wouldn't mind trying it, but outside of the gym i'll slap you stupid if you suggest it to me.

the drop would have to be huge. cause you have no backward momentum so the rotation would be slow.  it could only be a dash i would think. That puts your weight back the most. If you were trying for a kong it would have to be a front flip.

yeah I have a video of a kong to gainer by AC of Tempest. He did it the day before the Denver Jam leg of their tour. Its in the gym and into a foam pit but still damn impressive. I would be shocked if it was ever done outside on the streets.

I was also there to see this happen. It was one of the single most impressive things I have seen done in a gym. The guy who did it, AC, he was amazing. He just kinda casually told us about it, then went and pulled it off!! Demon, you should post that, I would love to see it again!

it is pointless but you can download vualts 102 in the apk video section and they have a variation of it. Now if you can do a front hand spring then you will prolly be able to do it.

We are not talking about a front handspring vault, we are talking about a kong to gainer.

That wouldn't really slow you down at all so it could be used efficiently. Unless someone says something about wasted energy lol.

No. Never.

Oh yeah, and that was sick. I could definatly see that being pulled in a real-world situation. I was just thinking the other day that over the past few years my conceptions as to what is and is not possible for the human body to do have been shattered.

Umm, it could slow you down in the landing, and also yeah, wasted energy. But it's still fun to look at.

that guy is insane i would pay large amounts of money to see someone do it in a real life situation.
