Why "Moves" is in Quotes ...
« on: August 01, 2006, 08:48:05 PM »
Because Parkour doesn't have any moves, really. Parkour is defined by purpose. Please do'nt try to make new "moves" for Parkour, it doesn't need a name for every conceivable way over an object. There are about 10 recognizable (and already named) very common movements that are often used in Parkour, please note that just doing one (or more) of these moves doesn't automatically mean you are doing parkour, and trying to name a new move doesn't mean you are doing parkour.

Perhaps "elements" is a better fitting word?

I think this new layout is great. This may not be a very popular thread though  :-[ :-\.

Btw: manilla, if you get sponsored doing parkour by red bull I will give you a hug and if they ask what was that I will tell them it is a Flippusmn hugging manilla with a twist.

I agree that we don't need names for every little movement but they do help on things like forums. I would rather say oh it did a BLANK than have to go through a paragraph description of the movements. I think that being able to name movements will help us understand what each other says.
