Brooksville/Spring Hille area?
« on: September 07, 2009, 08:05:57 AM »
Anyone around here? Just starting out and would be cool to have someone to get a few pointers from or even if you could just point out a few spots in town that would be good to train at. I don't have a car or I'd go look around for a spot to practice myself.
I do what I do because I want to. Not because you're doing it too.

I used to live out in Brandon but i moved out to Spring Hill about a year ago. As far as I've seen, there are no spots out here. I've been out of the game for a long time now, I still remember the movements but my fitness level has suffered from living the comfortable married life. I'm currently getting back into shape. I managed to drop 5 lbs in a week thanks to my diet and exercise regimen, but I'm nowhere near 100% yet. I'd give you some pointers... but there's nothing around here to really practice on.

There are a few spots that I train at. The observation towers(Hernando beach and Cruise Lake), the abandoned K-Mart(On 19 & Trenton), the Library(West), and PHCC(North Campus). That's about it for our area.

Call me if you ever wana run together. 352 346 6000

No, Josh, I'm still alive and well. As well as I can be anyway. I'm only 27 but I feel my past catching up with me. I have a shitty left knee that seems to tweek out on me for no reason at all sometimes. I broke my right thumb and the gripping power in my right hand will never be as good again. The knee thing was mostly due to my weight gain. I got up to 240 lbs. and stayed there for a while. However within 6 weeks of diet and exercise I'm down to around 210 which is actually 5 lbs lighter than when I ran with you guys. Right now it's all about practice. I am aware of the abandoned K Mart in this area but I never got any closer to it than just passing it on US19. It just really didn't look like much. I don't know where the PHCC North Campus is but I'm sure google could tell me. Who knows Josh, you may see me back out at USF some day soon.

The kmart is actually a pretty decent spot. There are some good walls to practice on, and on top of the store are some good routes to run. PHCC north campus is on county line rd. a.k.a. 98.
