Fivefingers KSO

Are incredible.

These things are just amazing. I have never been able to climb and move in a shoe before now.

I used to have some ninja tabi, but the grip wasn't all that impressive (I slipped even on brick... ALOT)

But these shoes are INCREDIBLE.

FIT: Think about a glove... Now make it foot shaped and there you have the KSO. Just befroe you buy them I heard that they stretch so go for a size smaller MAYBE. Mine haven't stretched and I practically haven't even taken them off since buying them. 5/5

GRIP: INCREDIBLE. I would have to say that these rival even my 5.10 Guide Tennies. I climbed a tree without slipping AT ALL. I climbed up a ten foot wall with NO problem whatsoever. These things are incredible. And the ability to use your toes will DEFINATELY make it so you can do things a little easier. 5/5

Support/padding: Okay... Here's the "hitch". They're just rubber. Not BASICALLY just rubber... No, they ARE JUST RUBBER. There is NO padding at ALL. BUT.... These things actually make me land... BETTER. I usually use my Guide Tennies but for some reason landing in them is a bit of a pain. These things I took a straight drop from about 8 feet up onto my feet, no roll, and it felt fine. No pain whatsoever. So this one is more up for interpretation. MY score would be 1/5 just because they have no support or padding... But I have no problems.

Breathability. With the Sprint and the Classics They would probably have more breathability than the KSO's... Which is just insane. Because these things are basically just not there. My feet have NO problem breathing in these shoes. 5/5

Flexibility: Okay, like I said before.... Foot gloves. NO JOKE. You know how with some shoes they actually pinch the "hinge" in your feet where your toes bend? Yeah, these don't do that at all. I basically can't feel them. 5/5

Weight: None existant... 5/5

Durabiltiy: Haven't really had them long enough to say but I would say probably a 4 or 5/5

Price: EXPENSIVE. That is the only problem I really see with these shoes. Is that they may be hard to afford for most people.

Overview: GET THEM. These things are just incredible. I don't like the price but it is definately worth it given they seem to last so long.

................., Others have spread the virus also, It won't be long now. Just sit back and watch it grow, watch while it infects everyone worldwide. And there'll be people out there looking for a cure to stop this virus. It'll be our job to make sure they don't succeed.  [WTF]

Vibram is having some stock issues, atm. They didn't expect to be so popular this fast. This may translate into trouble with availability.

For example, I bought some KSOs yesterday. I wanted the black ones, but the only colours that were available were the blue ones and the grey/green ones. I got the grey/green ones. They're pretty much amazing.

did you order from the Vibram website or a store, such as kayakShed or SummitHut? I noticed the other places didn't have any it stock, only the outragous sizes. I'm a 42.

I got mine at a store, but Vibram discusses their availability issues on their site.

My only issue with the KSOs stems from the fact that my big toe is significantly longer than the other toes, making the fit a little less than if I had consistently sized toes, but I found that the iniji socks are worth their weight in gold.

My Friend has the same issue, His big toe extends alot longer compared to his other toes, good thing for me my foot is a roughly average shape. and yes, The Socks are incredible

Five Fingers are extremely minimal and so have very little to wear out.  What usually ends up killing normal shoes is the weaker materials that provide cushioning, including relatively soft soles.  FFs have none of that.  At least not the original lines.

I've had mine since January in all conditions.  They're my primary footwear--training or otherwise--and they still show virtually no wear.  The size (in relief at the crook of one big toe) is getting difficult to read and I'm starting to get some separation from the uppers where the strap anchors on the sole (why there,  I have no idea).  That's it.

Bad news...... I tore the top of my KSO's.

BUT!!!!! it was a small tear, and I stitched it up. how did it happen? while doing a "Muscle up" on a Brick wall, the edge of the brick cut the thin fabric easily. I am not to worried about it though, as I said, its stitched up and is good now. but I'm watching it.

So... Do they smell?   ;D  But Seriously.

Also, would you guys say the KSOs are the best ones?  I was going to buy some a while ago but then didn't and now I am going to again and am not sure which ones to get but do the majority of traceurs get the KSO's?

I think the Sprints are the most versitile model they have, it might even say that on the website. I have a Black pair of KSO's, I like the KSO's though because of the closed foot. I'm thinking of getting a pair of Flows soon for winter also. also Vibram just came out with a new color for the KSO's, they look awesome, I've seen the new color so far on Kayakshed.com, other sites might hold them too but I haven't checked.

About the smell issue, I wear Injinji Socks with them so the smell is minimal, and I hand wash them, along with the socks, and I only smell a rubber smell, its not bad, but if you don't wear socks with them I'd imagine the smell would be worst.

I have washed mine rarely. They don't smell in my opinion... but thats because everyone is different i tend to sweat less on my feet than others. so It really depends on how much you sweat  :-\
