New to Parkour
« on: July 26, 2006, 04:48:13 PM »
Hey guys,

Name is Jacob/Jake/Whatever you want to call me (within reason). Anyways, I have been taking martial arts for about two years now and I would like to complement my training with some acrobatics of a sort, thus I turn to free running. I thought about it for a while and I would really like to give parkour a shot, but the problem is, I know nothing about PK besides what I have seen in the vids and briefly read in various threads. I do not believe that you can learn basic exercises from a website because you will never know if you are doing them properly, so I was wondering if anyone knows of a place or group of people that I could train with and learn the basics and then eventually some more advanced stuff. I live in the rockville area. Thanks in advance for your help ^_^.

Well, firstly hi and welcome, secondly where do you live? There is a training session at in rosslyn and georgetown this saturday at 10am, if you can make it meet at rosslyn station at 10am but we'll wait around for about thirty minutes then move out to train.

And also you would want to post this in the mid-atlantic boards at the bottom of this list.
