2 miscellaneous strength training questions.
« on: August 19, 2009, 11:46:55 AM »
I have been pondering these two thoughts for a while now, and I cannot seem to find an answer on any online sources, so I figured I would ask you guys.

The first- Front lever is to a planche, as back lever is to ______??? I was thinking you could preform such a feat through some sort of L-sit training. The closest I could find is hollowback handstands... Lemme know what y'all think on that one.

The second- Regarding pull ups, as you decrease leverage with your hand (minus fingers, fingertips only, goose neck, ect.) does it increase stress on your biceps and lats?

In other words, would I tax my arms and back more if I did 10 one finger pull ups as opposed to 10 full hand pull ups? Or would it be the same?
This post was based off of my personal gatherings. Enjoy:)

I've thought about the first one too, and while I don't know if it is or not, but I think the Manna position is to the BL what the planche is to the FL

Secondly, you work your grip more. Not your biceps, lats and w/e.

If you're going to compare them, I'd say Back Lever is to Planche in terms of form and (some) muscles used.  Then Front Lever is to (meh) L/V-sit.

1. There exists no such move. Nor is it possible to do.

Reverse planche/hollowbacks/whatever are just cheapo lookalike substitutes.

2. Fingers instead of hang only works your grip more. And all variations thereof.
