East Coast Meet-up
« on: November 18, 2005, 03:08:55 PM »
I imagine I'll get told this could go in another section, but I'm not quite sure where to put it. That said, here goes...

I think I heard about someone else doing this a while ago, but wasn't sure. What if all the PKers on the eastern US seaboard converged on one city in an East Coast Jam? From Maine to Miami, 'traceurs' from all over the East Coast in one big jam. If this has been done before, my apologies for bringing it up again, but as I stated before I wasn't sure if it had or not. VA or NC could be made the half-way point. I don't think anything of this size could be put together until this spring or summer, but it could be pretty nice!

Any thoughts anyone? (Please don't yell about the post, I might have to cry and you don't want that)  ;D

Yep, been done 3 times now and attempted a 4th.  Twice in New York ( PKUSA 1 (aka PK:East Coast) and PKUSA2 (Aka Great Flood Jam), once in Toronto (around 100 traceurs attended from both Canada and the united states) and it was attempted in the south east in
Atlanta but that kind of fell through. http://www.americanparkour.com/smf/index.php?topic=40.0

how big are the florida and other south-eastern scenes? I know the maryland/dc and ny/nj scenes are big, just wondering if it's worth it to have a jam that far south.

We got several guys down in Florida I'm pretty sure. But the scene is what we make of it my friend!
Va is a nice middle area to meet though ^.~ Hahahaha seeing as I'm from Va.

Yeah, my obvious bias aside, I think VA would be best because it's centrally located, we have a pretty big scene as it is, and there are a ton of good spots to hit up for a multi-day jam.

the VA/DC area would work for me. Nasty drive but it's better than a flight to NY or something.... that's *MY* $0.02.

VA Parkour is like the bully of the American Parkour scene

A 25 year old  albino hick diver named BRAIN that looks like hes 17, is feared by the chinease, crosses streets excessively, weighs 200+ pounds but still performs amazing flips, Brazilian Bully.

You must live in the DC/VA/MD area to comprehend.

Hahahahaha that was so randomly hilarious.

Pistol and M2 might get it too and they're not from Va/DC/MD exactly...  But if we start setting this up it's gonna be so beast.

I'm game for a jam that size. Well, if I can sleep on someone's floor/couch/sofa... I'm not picky  :D Also sounds like great interests in the VA/MD area.... *evil brain at work* There could be flyers in the states along the east coast and the such. Wait... I'm getting ahead of myself. hehe

This is going to have to be a short sleeve jam... half the people are miserable when the weather is cold. so if we have it in the months of spring i think it would be killer.... and that way only pistolwhip would be miserable. lets find out when the rescheduled flood jam will be (formerly April 2), and go from there.... but May would be nice!

May would be awesome. And if we have it while I'm still in college peeps could stay in my dorm/appartment. If I'm out of college peeps could probably stay at my house. Later is a little more unsteady as of now but probably. But lets see how the flood jam goes hahaha. I'm gett'n ahead of myself too.
