Hey guys. After a few weak attempts in the past, I'm finally going to get in shape for real. My goal is to be in good enough shape to be serious with Parkour by next spring.

Starting stats:

Height: 6'0
Weight: 255 lbs.
Age: 18
Pant size: 38

I'm not in the best of shape, or the worst of shape (since I do have a fair bit of muscle from my previous few attempts). However, I still have a bit of a gut and get winded a bit more quickly than I'd like. I can't set a concrete number for weight, but I'd like to have most of my gut gone and be able to do a mile in at least 8-9 minutes, hopefully (current time is 12 minutes, which is horrid).

I started going back to the gym Monday, went again yesterday, doing 45 minutes of light-medium cardio to get back into things. I was unable to today because of other obligations, but I plan on it tomorrow. I also hope to start trying to do the WODs starting tomorrow, though it'll probably be a while before I can truly do them.


My biggest problem right now is my diet. I definitely need to start eating healthier. I'm reading this topic right now, but any suggestions? I'm pretty sure I need to cut the Lo-Carb Monsters, and get in more fruits and vegetables.

Alright, so that's enough for now. Wish me luck, I'll definitely update often.

P.S. I'll be aided in this endeavor by my shiny new headphones. :D

So, today I went to the park and jogged/walked ~3 miles. I tried to jog as much of it as I could.

As for food, I ate far better today than I used to, but I could still use work.

Breakfast - Tuna w/ Olive Oil, bowl of watermelon, 2 bottles of water
Snack - handfull of Sunflower Seeds, 1 bottle of water
Lunch - Turkey sandwhich (1 slice American cheese, 12-grain bread), apple sauce, bottle of water, Lo-Carb Monster
Dinner - 1 Nathan's hot dog (no bun), 2 cobs of white corn, bowl of watermelon, 2 bottles of water
Snack - a few slices of dill pickle, 1 bottle of water


I had to have the Monster, it was the last one and I wasn't just going to throw it out. Starting tomorrow, I'm off the stuff.


I'm also going to set a couple of exercise goals for myself. Starting slow:

Do a set of 20 push-ups (current: ~8)
Do a set of 5 pull-ups (current: 0)
Do a set of 100 sit-ups (current: ~50)

I'll get more in-depth with my goals later, but until I can get those I definitely can't do anything extreme.

Right, so, what have I been up to? Well, Saturday I went to a campground, and ended up getting a good amount of exercise, both running and climbing. I'm still fairly sore from that. However, I haven't kept a log of what I've been eating. I'll resume that, and update my progress on my goals tomorrow.
