Head Injury, Doing a jump
« on: August 02, 2009, 12:54:19 PM »
Date of Injury Somtime in July, maybe the 15th
Time of injury (0:00 to 23:59) 14:30
Your DOB and age 1/27/93 16
Name Alvin
City, State Conneticut.
# years practicing Parkour / Freerunning 1 year
Hours of training per week. (real, not what you'd like to do) 5 hours
Other exercise / fitness experience Gym twice or once a wekk
Location where injury occurred Public Water-Pump Property
Conditions of location (wet, dark, icy, etc) Dry, Warm.
What you were doing / trying to do when injury occurred? I was trying to do a flip off the tree and misgrabbed it.
Where any other people involved? No
Part of body  - description of injury, rating of severity 1-10. 5 Head, hit my head had a small bump alot of the impact was taken from my hand which was ripped up from the concrete
Did you see a doctor for diagnosis? Yes
Did you get X-rays or MRI's? Yes, to check my back just in case, everything was ok.

Video of the injury http://video.ak.facebook.com/video-ak-sf2p/v2685/172/59/97099606632_44171.mp4          Video may not work tell me, I ripped it off my facebook.

Could you / how could you have avoided the injury? Yes, by not doing it but I had avoided most damage by experience and knowing how to cover my head in that situation
Date / type / severity of your last injury? That was my last one, Im fine now.
Notes on the experience? Make sure you review you  jumps before you try it, if I simple looked at the tree to see where I was going to grab and push all would of been avoided, I could of even died if I didnt protect myself well enough.

It was like a water-pump property for brown outs and powerouts, and I guess I did goto a doctor but it wasn't a doctor not sure what to call it, I'll make it a yes.

Yes I am fine, Just telling other people to check there "stunts" before they do, even though freerunning is "free" somtimes its better just to make sure.. because on this situation  I was like turn the camera on..
