i think the thing is that ive gotten so used to normal kong, that i do it better than split leged, i got just as far/high, and i felt more comfortable doing it the old fashioned way :P
Yeah I know what you mean, but split legged definitely makes a huge difference when you're say konging a rail, or a solid concrete object, not a picnic table. You can pretty much cover the same length object with both techniques, but a split foot gives you more post kong distance if done right which is how people do massive kong to precisions and cats.

I'm 12 and just started about 1 and a half weeks ago and I am not in the best physical condtion, and I live in a pretty bland neighborhood I wish I started earlier in my life, that way I might be in better shape!

Well, my whole life I've never been one to follow boundaries, and I've always been climbing and jumping on stuff. I learned about Parkour just two months before my 16th birthday, and I realized I had been doing similar stuff my whole life, but this was just A LOT more complex and bigger. I just wish I had a more physical background to help me.

I've been training since I was 12 but you know, even as a litttle kid I still did a lot of the stuff that is actually PK. It seems that for people who as a kid would just run and stuff PK comes naturally.

Is it OK for my brother to start training? He is 10, and his muscles are weak.

Is endurance/strength training bad at 10 y/o?

It's not bad its just that, you can't really do that much with parkour when you're a little kid. I mean some people on here will disagree with me, but that's what I think

I started around 10, and around 12 I figured what I was doing was freerunning. I think younger the better, but really any age at all. You are never to old, or young.

I'm 15 and have been playing sports for a while. I've been excercising specifically for parkour for a few weeks and actually training for a week.

YAY! i'm ok for a complete noob mostly because i have lots of help from my friends, and id like to say parkour is one of the most exciting things ive done b4. I used to do martial arts and breakdance, but since i tried parkour out, its been a blast. So, i now know what i'm gonna be doing during this christmas break :)

I have been going for about 2 and a half months now and I am twelve and I realized that i was doing a bunch of this stuff when I was a little kid. I guess parkour comes naturaly to everyone. They just have to take the inititive to dig inside themselves and uncover their primal side.

In Chicago, it seems that the average starting age is between 16 and 18.  Although I know people who are much younger, and much older than that.

Yea it doesn't matter at all when you start. If someone starts when they're 20 but have plenty of athleticism then they're not behind a kid who started at 15. A lot of parkour moves are simple in terms of coordination, they just take strength and conditioning and training to be able to execute and not hurt yourself

I feel like I started too late....

I am 18 years old and been physically inactive all my life.

I would say all ages, but you should have some physical endurance before you do.
