Turn Vault
« on: November 18, 2005, 01:50:02 PM »
Turn Vault- This movement is used mainly as a means to get down from a height you wouldn't vault or jump down. you approach the object as if you were to do a regular vault except one hand( the one you use to support yourself during a regular vault) will be on the object fingers facing towards you, then you punch off the ground let go with the hand not facing you, turn 180 degrees in midair, place free hand back on object and land on other side of object in a catleap/saut de bras position. This completes the movement.

Notes- This movement is easiest performed on a rail at firs but with practice, can be done on any vaultable object. Most vaults can be mad into turn vaults which leaves this move to be both practical and aesthetically pleasing if wished.examples of the variations are (lazy-turn vault, monkey-turn vault, reverse-turn vault, etc.)
I don't know if there is a french name for this vault. I hope this makes sense and is accurate....keep running

It would be nice to pare that down to one or two sentences. The purpose isn't exactly a tutorial as much as a basic, simple explanation of the term.

okay, sorry about that I will just leave the writing to the other posters since I think I have done enough already.
