Finally got some time to do this. Funny thing is that it was not planned.
A few days ago, actually yesterday I brought a couple of my vaulting boxes (now that I have a pair more at CF where I teach) to my friends puppy day care so the dog can use it. I hang out a lot there anyway so I figure.....
I went there today after wanting to train I said to myself "well, my ankles are a bit tired from some activity during Marks visit, so cant do anything to big" So I decided after a few vaults that I should just do 300 kong. Nothing fancy, not much run, not much dive just a clean kong. I decided to land with both feet together to avoid much one foot impact and to condition my ankles evenly.
The first 100 I took my sweet time, talking here and there, doing 10 to 15 at the time. I started at 2:40pm, byt 3:40 the number was 100. After that I figure I didnt want do 100ph so I sped it up a bit. Then I hit 200, it was 4:20 by then. I received a call from my wife reminding me that we needed to be somewhere soon. I had until 5 to finish. So 250 came across, not so bad. The last 50 though were not fun at all. My ankles were tired, my form was still good considering I was playing with upper and lower body transitions. 15 more to go, almost there, sweating my ass and feet asking me to hurry so they could rest.
300 was the goal, 5:00pm I hit 300, such a relieve. Then I decided to do 10 more, for the fallen ones, those werent actually that bad. It was all a mental game really. I cant wait for my next one, I want to try something different, using a couple techniques or something. Maybe kong to precision or a small flow. Who knows, I am just glad I finally gave this a first try.
Now go and do it guys/gals!!!!
