As much as I'd like to be there for the Saturday festivities, I might be able to make it Sunday to hang with all the people there, and at the very least make an appearance, if I can, I definitely will!

Ride cancels this morning, I find some guy who wants to go Sunday since he's busy tomorrow, I'll take it.

I guess we'll have to have a bunch of extra shenanigans to make up for you not being there. I'll do my best!

My arrival was indeed epic.

Was only there for the small Sunday session, but it was great, glad I could make it. Lots of challenges, and no crushed dreams.

Goodnight.

There was this Michigan guy from Brazil that was there, and he inspired me a lot
i used to think the same way as him, and that was a really great time of my life, i felt peaceful and respectful all of the time....anyway, his viewpoint was to Learn everything you can from everyone around you, just gain as much insight and knowledge as possible.

I got caught up in trying to be the best, and being better than everyone....but it is a much better way of life to not try to be better than anyone, and just gain as much knowledge as possible from your peers around you, and in the end, you will gain more skill than you would have by trying to be the best.

My message is....try to Learn as much as you can from the other people around you, don't try to beat them.
I like Tricking and Free Running, i don't think i actually do parkour, because i do it for fun and self expression, which would change the term to free running.

thats very respectable. thats how i try to do things. sometimes though to much knowledge can be bad. just think about what you say in some instances.

The recommendation I received to watch Massive Head Wound Harry while at the jam is now even more appreciated since I watched it.

That skit is something else, haha.

I just wanted to say to everyone that came out to the jam, thank you.  The combine spirit, energy, and cooperation from all the traceurs that attended this weekend made this one of my favorite jams.   (second only to PK Gen @ Ohio)   I push myself to over come some fears, energized my my training and passion towards pk, and figured out skills that I'm going to train for next season. However, by far my favorite part was the extreme sense of fellowship that everyone had or at least I got out of the weekend.  People sharing knowledge and opinions of Parkour, sword fighting and capoeira in the front yard, acoustic guitar by camp fire, and my favorite, hacky sack in the front room while Travis dj'ed a continual stream of awesome music. This community aspect of parkour is by far one of my favorite parts of this discipline. I was sitting back during the BBQ and watching everyone interacting and it gave me a overwhelming sense of belonging and brotherhood (and sisters too). I couldn't be happier to share my passion of parkour with better group of people.  You all are brothers in my eyes, brothers of movement.  Till our next encounter, much love.

Train hard, train safe.

-P

p.s.  You know you're a traceur when.. you get back home from after a jam and within an hour g/f calls you out for being geekier than when you left 3 days earlier.

I am so glad you guys changed the dates on me. Now I can't go. I requested the 25th-27th off. Thanks a lot guys.
when did we change the dates? i announced them in July

On the main website calander it states 25-27th Michigan National Jam. It also has a link to THIS THREAD. Also in the "Official 2009 National Jam Schedule" post it states 25-27th as well. What was I supposed to think? I was going to carpool with 6 guys. I guess due to poor planning and miscommunication on your guys part unabled us to go... Thanks.

Dude chill, it was no one involved in MIPK's fault. I'm very sorry on there behalf, and hope you can make it out next time but, it's over so forgive and move on.

Hey, bringing a friend with me on Sunday when I come down. He's never done parkour before, so I would like to get him out and show him what parkour really is. No housing needed.
97% of people say "oh $#%@" when their car slides on ice, the other 3% are from Canada and say, "Hold my beer and watch this!"

The Calendar on the front page is wrong. Look at the title of the thread.. the jam already happened. (Thanks to those that came and made it awesome. And sorry to those of you that were confused or missed it because of this)

But, we do have regular training in Ann Arbor on Sunday at 4pm at the Dental School, and you are welcome to come to that!
