just figure it out like the rest of us had to. we cant tell you how to move.

Then whats the point of this forum? The guy asked a question, and that's what you have to say?

Anyways, usually the problem with a kong is hips. Most people keep their hips too low and try to force their legs through with their arms, when in fact you should get your hips high enough to allow your lower body to almost fall through. Hope this helps:)
This post was based off of my personal gatherings. Enjoy:)

I think picnic tables are about as good as it gets. Learning on something like a bench or rail doesn't encourage diving at all. I saw two things in your video that should help you a lot if you fix.
1. Dive more - You're putting your hands down before or as your jumping. That kills momentum and makes it harder to pull your legs through. It's a bit scary but try to dive and get your hands further on the table. Something like this: http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/7021/dscf2089.jpg

2 It looks like you're untucking your legs too early, which is why you're hitting your feet. Keep them tucked all the way until you're clear of the table.

Diving more should also make it easier to keep your legs tucked because you'll clear the obstacle more easily. Just make sure you commit. Also, you might want to look at this: http://www.americanparkour.com/content/view/941/245/

Better to learn it correctly than to have to fix technique later. Hope that helps.

i think you're just having commitment issues, its really something you just have to commit to.

if you really give it an honest to god shot your body kind of sets up a chain reaction for a follow through pretty naturally.

my mind is constantly moving, one day my body will be strong enough to keep up.

yes, definitely, I've found that most moves (Obviously you need the knowledge of the steps) will come naturally if you have studied them and commit to them

Get your momentum going, all i see you doing is not committing to the kong.  yeah get your hips up higher, but if you can jump on top of that table then there's no reason you can't kong it.  I think your problem is more mental then physical.... try to work a progression so that you can trust yourself enough to commit.  Monkey stall onto it first, then just extend the length you get with your monkey stall, just get comfortable with the move before you do it.  You'll get this soon enough, good luck man.

This is a rather old thread, but I noticed that something really basic hasn't been stated yet. When doing flips  and spins, wherever your head goes the body follows.  The same applies to kong vaults.  Bend your neck wo that you're looking downward, you'll naturally try to straighten your body (I.e. hips will raise).  Then, once you push off, spot your landing and look straight ahead.

i never thought of that

The shadow overtake us, we are known
We're more than carbon and chemicals
Free will is ours and we can't let go
We are the image of the invisible"
