Tennis Elbo & Greenline Fracture in my Nose! :D
« on: July 22, 2009, 03:41:11 PM »
Date of Injury - 1. I cant remember exactly... :o; 2. hmmm... yeah, nada... (very bad memory)
Time of injury 1. (12:13 - 1:25); 2. (2:45 - 3:15)
Your DOB and age - Feb. 8, 1993 16 years old
name Jon Reid
Torrance, CA.
# years practicing Parkour / Freerunning - a little over a month now... lol
Hours of training per week - uhh... I'd say around 17 hours a week
Other exercise / fitness experience - err... training for this...?
Location where injury occurred - 1. School ; 2. My living room... T-T
Conditions of location - 1. Sunny and dry!; 2. It's a rug... Can't get much safer in my own house than that!
What you were doing / trying to do when injury occurred? - 1. Climbing a poll; 2. Practicing rolling
Where any other people involved? - Nobody for both
Part of body  - 1. Inner forearms 4/10; 2. Nose 5/10
Did you see a doctor for diagnosis? - no for both
Did you get X-rays or MRI's? - nope!
Picture of the injury - err... kinda hard to get a picture of something you cant see and that has already healed... >.>
Could you / how could you have avoided the injury? - 1. STRETCHING!!; 2. doing it more slowly I guess...
Date / type / severity of your last injury? - Those were my most recent ones, and I'm fine now!
Notes on the experience?

I may be mistaking it for something else, but the description I saw for Tennis Elbo matched what I had pretty accurately.
Probably just a pulled muscle, but it did hurt for a while to even just grip things.
But I'm fine now!

---

I got the greenline fracture in my nose when I was practicing rolls on a rug.
I bled for a short while, but oddly enough the pain went away very quickly! ( not the blood though! :O )
I find it a bit ironic that when I roll on my carpet, I break my friggin nose, yet I can jump off my damn garage and roll on some grass nearly flawlessly! :D (btw, I accomplished that about forty minutes ago!)

Parkour/freerunning isn't about jumping off things dude...

Work ground level technique..

Sorry about your injury.
