Michigan Parkour Website
« on: July 13, 2009, 11:24:47 PM »
Ok so, here's the deal.  michiganparkour.com is already taken by some guy over in Harrison Township... I don't know him, whatever...  We're working on a site, but need your input!

Please post what all you guys would want for a Michigan Parkour website!

right now a few ideas we have are:
Calendar
Hot Spots Map
Help for new people
Local events

Input will help make this better!  What do we want/need as a community?

I want to get this up and running ASAP  ;D

Maybe we could have sections for the different areas to let everyone else know what they're doing. So Ann Arbor could say Training Tues., Thurs., Sun. hell night saturday. And we could have a people section for the different areas so that people know the leaders/active members to contact if they are in town.

Hey guys, I'm trying to get the site up and running, but I need your help.

I need dates/times/places that everyone regularly trains. (for the calendar and hotspots)

Who new people should contact in each group.

What groups we have?  I know we have U of M, and Battle Creek, but I'm not sure exactly where everyone puts themselves...

Anyone Artistic/knows wtf they're doing for creating a website.

Also, I REALLY ENCOURAGE you guys to contribute to the hotspots map http://www.americanparkour.com/content/view/2383/398/
it's easy, just go take some pictures, write like 3 sentences, and send em to Jereme.  It's all explained on the page.

Im pretty experienced at creating websites. Just I suck at graphics. Once school starts, my time will be greatly reduced. Im taking physics, calc, and american lit ap as a junior.
Wanna know something?
I lost the game.

This is Jack on Justin's name. Me and Justin will be the contacts for Downriver, Michigan. That includes places like Allen Park, Lincoln Park, Southgate, Riverview, Detroit, Wayndotte, etc. The only set time we really train is the parkour class at Mills Gymnastics every Friday from 2 to 3:30 pm. So you could add that to the calender. As for hotspots we know a few places in Dearborn and Heart Plaza in Detroit. We Will take some pics next time we go out there and try to add them to the hotspots page. New people should contact me or Justin. My number is 1313-330-0321. Justin's number is 1313-575-5426. Were not really a group but we could represent the downriver area if necessary, and set up regular training times each week and stuff. So yeah either way we would like to be apart of what we can so just let us know what we can do to help out.

Who new people should contact in each group.

My group trains every Sunday from 12am-6pm in the gym and from about 6pm-8pm at this local park.

Gym address: see http://www.americanparkour.com/smf/index.php?topic=15307.0

Park address: 32900 Garfield Rd, Fraser, MI

People to contact
KC: (248)873-3779, Rochester Hills area
Phonis: (586)530-6020 Macomb Twp/Sterling Heights/Kalamazoo/Battle Creek area
Home is in Macomb TWP. Will be moving to Kalamazoo for college in the fall, anyone can still feel free to contact me from the MacombTWP/Sterling Heights area as I know plenty of people in the area who I could get them together with for training. Not to mention whenever I return home to train with them myself.

I'm sure I'll get familiar with the K-Zoo scene over time, and will be a reliable contact out there as well.

Kyle: (586)294-6992(ask for Kyle)- Roseville/Clinton Twp/Fraser area

We can mainly host anyone in the Macomb County area.

Will be posting hotspots soon.

So for the sake of those people who want to contact others via the 'active groups' page, but don't feel comfortable calling them... I feel like I, as well as the other contacts, should have posted an e-mail address as well as phone number.

This E-Mail was just made for this purpose.

Any news yet on getting an official domain name?

Also, since when are Chris and Mike mods?  That's pretty sweet.

we're still talking to zac, he keeps telling me apk wants to host the site, but haven't heard from him about it.  If that's the case then the site as it is now will only be a rough draft, and will have to be redone.  As for the domain name, once mike gets back to me on if we get funding or not we'll grab it.
