I doubt my parents would ever approve but I would love to do this... I'm going to do that for sure, but most likely during the day. through the same concept of making less noise, just more light.

The cool thing is you don't have to even leave your house to do this, Michael. Put on some combat boots or something heavy and loud.  Walk. Try to reduce the noise to 0, or as close as you can get. Then try other footwear, other surfaces. Gravel and cinders are hard surfaces, since they slide all over each other. When you're super quiet at walking speed, then try increasing the speed and distance.

I did this with dress shoes on tile yesterday at work. It was the only workout I got, and I totally forgot about it.

I think we all as a group need to schedule more night sessions.
Anyone down for a night time jam.

I'm down for that. ^.^

So I was a little slow but I finaly caught on, Everybody was using their REAL names. MY bad, so I switched to the real me...

I think training noise discipline can be supper fun..  even in the daylight.

  blindflolds
  water balloons
  obsticals

the "noise detectors" sit  blindfolded with water balloons.  and will toss the balloons in the direction of the noise they hear, if any.

the runners goal is to make it across the variouse obsticles without getting wet or herd.

lol I could see someone abusing the rules and just throwing water balloons randomly, But sounds like fun... lets try this at the next jam.  The only issue is that as you've seen parkour gets a little iffy when stuff gets wet, so might wanna make sure it doesn't make it too unsafe.

We can throw something dry and soft. Tennis balls maybe.

This game sounds good for a cool-down game. Doesn't need parkour obstacles, just a noisy surface. By that time I'd be WANTING to be hit by a water balloon. This game would work better with a water hose. ;D

haha, If that's the case then I'd just run across as fast as I could and hope that the person who's blindfolded can't throw very well.

Water balloons are just too difficult. That's why I'd use a good strong hose. Of course, what you'd want to do is move until someone very quiet was between you and the guy with the hose, then make noise so the quiet guy got soaked and you were mostly shielded. ;D

Or sneak up behind the person with the hose and scare them. Then duck, dive and roll so they sprayed a whole ton of people.

My friends and I used to play a game like this in our backyard. We always got wet and dirty. It was a lot of fun.

Something similar we did was make a large "maze" in the background. The person who was IT had a water pistol and would try to tag you as you all were running around the maze. Once you were on a path, you couldn't turn around, but all the paths looped and interconnected. This would work on a large beach , too.

Hey Ozzi - with all this talk of waterballoons, and since it's getting to be rainy season, I did a short... kinda short... summary of a Dan Edwardes/ PkGen article on rain training. It should be over at HIpk. I should have copied it into "Going Natural" but I forgot to. :P

It was more designed for a British audience, but the principles still apply here...

Welcome back. Happy Thanksgiving!
For teaching, I think if you can build up a few moves you can do well, it gives you the confidence to share them. Ozzi and Ryan and I kinda talked about it a little in the "What to teach first timers" thread. Lazy's a good choice.
