Well I suppose this is the place where Oahu people introduce themselves yeah? anyway,

My name is Anthony but I go by my nickname Raijin by most (Rai or just Jin if you're too lazy) so yeah.

I've started Parkour I guess two years ago when I heard about it and started to read about the philosophical studies about Parkour like what it's about and it's meaning and what not. After the wonderful year of understanding and what not I began doing the physical which is actually about a year ago and thing have been great since.

I've played through all the basic video games that had some sort of hand in Parkour (Assassin's Creed and Mirror's Edge) to get a decent feel to the realism of it but of course nothing is better than the real thing so I practiced on and off.

I've been doing martial arts and concepts what not throughout recent years, I major in mainly Muay Boran and Eskrima.

I'm currently 18 and doing nothing but saving money until April so if there's a jam on island I'll probably be there.

Hi Anthony! Welcome to HIpk!
Yes, this is the place where you intro yourself.
We'll probably call you Anthony, or some shorter version. Unless you normally go by your nickname, you might want to change your name to Anthony Raijin or post "Anthony" either as your avatar caption or in your sig.

Nicknames get to be a hassle unless it's REALLY a nickname people use for you.

Hey all! My name's Jerry. I'm in the Marine Corps, and I'm stationed in San Diego, CA... For now. At the end July, I'm changing stations to Camp Smith, HI, and need to find some people to train with. I'm oookayyy at Parkour, and I'm always looking to improve myself. If anyone knows of any groups I can train with starting in August, hit me up!

Thanks.

Hey, Jerry

Camp Smith is close to Aiea... I think that's where Sala trains.
You're not too far from CrossFit Oahu, either - maybe 9 miles or so.

Welcome, Francis! No experience? That's fine!
Check the "Announce Your Training Session" thread (link) for training near you.
There are also jams every month - usually 2 of them. Beginners are always welcome.
I think they still have classes at Hawaii Academy - a chance to practice in a softer, safer environment.

Welcome Francis and Jerry,

Hawaii Academy is very near Redhill, you might want to check it out.
You guys are more than welcome to come to the jams. We are usually training randomly here and there as well.

Hope to see you around guys.
