Love to man. I would say any time any place... but I'm a full time student and I work. But definitely SOMEtime and SOMEplace. PS tried some barefoot jumps at UH the other day because I was SURE I could do them without shoes. I was right. Painfully right. Barefoot is best for outdoor activites.

Quick question, I've been trying to see where classes are and I may have missed something. Is there a Friday parkour class? Also I have heard rumor of classes at the Stan Sheriff center at UH. True?

I am very excited about the upcoming training on the 13th. Sorry Ozzi to miss the Pali Highway Jam. I was SO stoked to go and was about 2 hours into sleeping when you guys started.

okay yeah lets set something up...I'm sure you've got finals and stuff coming up for the next couple weeks (like I do) so probably not gonna be able to do too much stuffs...But!!

I'm pretty much commited to going to Hawaii Academy Gymnastics on fridays 6pm-8pm ($10)
Also I go to UH's open gym sometimes, they aren't "classes" .... more just time to fool around on padded floor...it's free but then again it's just flat foam floor with not much to do but conditioning/tumbling and flippy stuff.  And the room it's at is right next to second floor entrance to stan Sheriff center (studio 4)  this one is Weds (8:30pm-10pm) & Sunday (7:30pm-10pm).

Call me if you wanna meet up randomly and I might not be working/ in class/ studying (808-754-4800)

AND ikaika, I'll call you tom to see if you can make it down with me and ozzi tom.

Figured I'd go ahead and introduce myself. My name's Brandon, and I heard about the group from none other then Stacie. I live in Mililani, and FYI, I'm not opposed to giving rides to those who need it as long as you don't live somewhere ridiculous (like the other side of the island). I caught some of you at last week's Friday training, and I appreciate the patience and all. Hope to be able to make it out there again this Friday as well.

As far as general conditioning and whatnot goes, I frequently run with those awesome Vibram 5 finger shoes and I'm just under 2 weeks left until I finish my first round of P90x, which I'm definitely enjoying and would recommend to those looking for a good place to just generally improve their strength all around. I like hiking so I'm almost always up for a trail, so if anyone's up for doing whatever hit me up with a private message on the forums or my cell (910) 303-5465.

welcome...fridays & sat are still going on.  There's nothing we do that excludes participation of beginners.  Beginner/intermediate seminar is coming up on the 13th...

Here's the info for the seminar

When: Sunday, December the 13th. 10:30am to 3:00pm.

              556 reed lane
              Honolulu, HI 96813

Age:10+ If you plan on bringing your younger child, please email me at ozzi@americanparkour.comThis e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

Any skill level of experience is welcome. If you have never done any parkour in your life, you have come to the right place! If you have been training for years, you have also come to the right place!

Be sure to tell your friends about this event! Parkour is a community based event, it's much funner when you get to train with your friends.

We will be going over some parkour fundamentals, exercises, drills and games.
CHECK THE OUTLINE HERE

FAQ's:

What should I wear?
Wear something comfortable, light and flexible. Most regular athletic shoe is acceptable.

Do I bring food?
You are welcome to bring your own food, but we might buy pizza or have some drinks and snack from you donated by some participants.

Can I come late?
While the price remains the same, you can show up whenever you are available. There is no penalty for being late or leaving early, however if you are paying for a full day of training you will get better rewards if you dont miss anything.

Out of curiosity, could you tell us more about yourself so we could be more helpful, like what are you looking for?  Training partners?  How old are you?  Experience level?  Interested in parkour, tricking, Natural training?  Real name?  Are you a local, or visiting?

My name is Brian Harbaugh. New to Hawaii and the parkour game in general. trying to get info on the scene out here and meet people who can help me learn more, because i am eager to learn. i'll be off island until the 1st of the year, so anything going on immediately after that would be awesome. thanks so much

Hey Brian, my name's Ryan welcome to Hawaii.  We'll have lots of stuff going on in January...ozzi's starting up a cross fit class that you can take to whip yourself into good shape/introduce you to some basics of parkour.  HIPK is also hosting a National jam where traceurs from all over the country are invited to come down and train with us for a weekend.

Anyway, we've pretty much got something parkour related going on every other day...be it random training sessions or scheduled gym sessions, there's always gonna be something to do.  Could you give me more info about yourself (I ask out of curiosity, no need to answer though)?

1. Age?
2. Why parkour?  How did you find out about us?
3. Sports/ Recreational stuff you've done/are currently doing before?
4. What do you think parkour is?
5. Where/ from whom did you first hear about parkour?
6. Ever been injured from trying to train parkour on your own?

I'm still relatively new to Parkour myself (started june 2009), I try to train pretty regularly though cause I love seeing the major improvements in my mentality and overall physical ability through parkour.  I look forward to training with you some time.  Give me a call when you're ready to train (808-754-4800).

Hey all,

My name's James, I've been Oahu for about 3 years now and just heard of HiPK through an ad at work posted by a woman named Stacie. I've heard of free running for awhile now, and was hyped to hear about a group here on Oahu. I saw some posts about a beginner seminar on the 13th, definitely down for that if you'd have me (and maybe the wife too). Let me know

well, i'm happy to answer the questions as best i can. i'm 24. i have loved the idea of parkour and free running since i first found out about it a year or two ago. i found out about HIPK through some internet searching and asking around K-Bay. i've done just about every sport including martial arts and gymnastics as well as crossfit. i first heard about parkour from friends of mine in my unit in California. they tried to learn it on their own and that didnt work out so well, but i myself never really got involved because i had too many other commitments going on. I trained to a high level of skill in several martial arts, including BJJ and traditional jiu jutsu, so i learned to take my falls that way, so fortunately i've never yet been injured while engaging in parkour/free running like activities. i'll be back on the island on the 1st of January and you can definitely be expecting a call from me. My number is (831-676-7982) looking forward to training with you
