Shoe Review: Five Ten Guide Tennie

FIT:

The fit isn't the best. They can be a bit loose, which can get quite annoying at times. But it's not so bad to the point where you can't stand it.

3/5

FLEXIBILITY:

Despite the materials it's made from and the fact that there's no mesh, it's actually pretty flexible. It takes a while to really get it to flex, but it's decent. Very good.

4/5

WEIGHT:

The weight, like the flex, is very surprising. It's pretty light. It could be lighter, but it's not like a brick on your foot. The only real reason it couldn't be lighter is because how thick the outsole is. But other than that, it's decent.

3/5

GRIP:

Like all Five Ten shoes, the grip is amazing. It can stand plenty of wall runs, and is extremely durable. But the formula used for the sole is the Stealth C4, which marks like a Sharpie. :(

4/5

BREATHABILITY:

BAD. BAAAAAAAAD. It has no mesh at all, AND is made out of leather. You'll find your feet sweating a lot. Blech.

1/5

CUSHIONING:

Decent. Not the best, though. But you can live with it. I put an insole in the ball of the foot, because you may need some extra protection there, but it's not necessary. For those who want no cushioning to feel your environment, this isn't gonna work for that.

3/5

DURABILITY:

Amazing. I'm very very surprised by this. I thought it wouldn't last very long, but it still could be presented as new after about 3 months. Yes. It's epic.

5/5

PRICE:

It's available for $105 on the FT website, but I'm sure you could find a better deal. Either way, it's worth the money.

3/5

GENERAL COMMENTS:

I LOVE this shoe. I definitely reccomend this shoe to any traceur who want flexibility and shock absorbtion, without sacrificing grip. But as I said earlier, the breathability is terrible. The only things I would change would be to add a bit of mesh into it somewhere, and make the outsole a bit thinner.

The Bottom Line:

BUY IT.

Pros:
Grip is awesome
VERY durable
Flexibility is great
Cushioning is decent
Worth the price

Cons:
Fits a bit loose
Not breathable
Sole marks a lot
