another vote for vibram five fingers(I have the black KSO's and other closely related barefoot shoes (feyiues are pretty good too). All this talk about shock absorption shouldn't be happening, you should be asking yourself how you can better your landing technique. I vaulted over a rail about lower chest high (4' or so ) and immediately upon landing I noticed my body taking over and landing on my toes, and absorbing the impact perfectly.

Another important note is that my landings are about as quiet as my actual running and these KSO's make me feel like a ninja. I also flow out of landings much better too... even though on the fourth day of having my five fingers my calfs are burning and feet a little sore, I feel stronger and know i'm doing things more smoothly and things are safer as a result.

My Dad is a builder/roofer/painter/carpenter and he uses the nike air pegasus and the have awsome grip(wich is needed when putting on shingles 30 to 90 feet in the air)

adidas samba:i just got these shoes and they are doing pretty good, they are pretty light and the rubber sole provides good traction, the toes are reinforced but it has no shocks making you practice your landings better

I haven't actually started practicing Parkour yet, but I will be using my trusty Onitsuka Tiger Ultimate 81's. I've used them for DDR for years, and I believe they'll be good for Parkour as well! They're very light, comfortable, snug, not overly expensive(about $65), and they seem to have fairly good grip that extends up the front.

I'm getting Merrell Waterpros, they have good arches and are very durable. bottoms won't wear because it's basically one piece. they aren't too thick but give enough support.

Am I the only person who just does Parkour in my everyday shoes? I don't even remember what my shoes are called, the grip is worn away in some spots, and it's definitely not made for anything other than walking, but I still haven't had a problem.

I regularly have been using my everyday New Balance shoes... getting pretty worn with plenty of no-tread-left areas, but they serve the purpose well.  A bit more cushion than I care for, but that's why I recently got a pair of Vibram Five Finger Classics.  Been training indoors with them, and I LOVE them.  Can't wait to get outdoors with them in the Spring.

My PK shoes ARE my regular shoes... And i dont got very good shoes... Theyre worn down, falling apart, holes, no traction, squeaky, heels are broken so i have no shock absorbtion.... But hey. all you need for it is a pair of shoes. I used to wear shoes where the soles were paperthin, and had holes so you could see my socks and tickle my feetsies!!! I plan on getting new $20 shoes again in another 2-3 months... YAY Walmart. your shoes suck and break after a week, but your all i can afford so i deal with you

I bought Vibram Five-Fingers last year on the advice of my climbing partner.  I don't care much for them for climbing, as they don't have enough rigidity to cope with small, sharp footholds, but I love them for trail running and can't wait to try them out for Parkour!

Im native, so i have wide feet. Running shoes dont really work for me. I have to use adidas or skate shoes. Skate shoes are my favorite to use though.

im pretty new to parkour but found out my new balance shoes was pretty worn out and im gonna get a new pair on saturday or sunday...Does anyone suggest any shoes i can get (not through online stores) that isnt too expensive and got one peice of grip instead of patterns? and the grip should wrap around toes area...  but this is wat everyone suggesting but they telling me to get shoes that are like $100 when i looked them up... i would prefer them to be about $60 at most...

I'd definitely say go for the KSOs. That's what I use, and the mesh has proven very useful at keeping debris out.

i use these... theyre my everyday shoe but theyre adidas skateboarding busenitz pro model... very grippy and flexible  and lots of padding
