What you were doing / trying to do when injury occurred?-
Learning to flip for the first time.

I had two experienced people spotting me.
Part of body - description of injury, rating of severity 1-10.-
Inside my left shoulder, probably my rotator cuff. There was no visible swelling and massaging it is not painful. Around a week later my shoulder is still stiff and I cannot bring myself to lift my arm over my head on the side axis. Level of severity is unknown.
Did you see a doctor for diagnosis?-
The next day.
Did you get X-rays or MRI's?-
I got X-Rays the same day I saw my doctor.

Could you / how could you have avoided the injury?-
I was fatigued when I started the flip progression. I should have known I was in no condition to keep training. I’m lucky I didn’t break or dislocate anything.

Never had any major (non-bruise or scrape) Parkour related injuries.
Notes on the experience?-
I will be much more aware of myself in the future.
I have been taking my rehabilitation seriously. I’ve been in a sling since the accident and I’ve been following RICE carefully. I’m going in for an acupuncture treatment tomorrow. I’ve never had acupuncture before; I’m hoping it will do some good. I will not be training again until the pain has been gone for a few days. I am open to any and all suggestions for recovering faster or better.
