Dash to Kong help. (Video included)
« on: June 15, 2009, 05:29:38 PM »
Hello APK, i'm just looking to get some critique on this movement.  I just taught myself how to dash today, so I would like to see what you guys have to say about my form.  Also in the video is a kong, which i would like critiqued as well.

Thanks!  (Apologies for the quality, youtube doesn't exactly help crappy cellphone videos)

Hard to see, and youtube freezes your video half way through the kong, but from what I saw, looked fine. Work on softer, quieter landings and hand placements, and you're in the green, One-two landing was nice.

Yeah, youtube hates me.

It's a stretch but see if you can see the video on facebook.

lol funny enough, that is exactly what I did when I learned the Dash... chained it to a kong... my video wasn't quite that flowey but that is because I had no room XD

(Oh and for me, it didn't freeze)

anyways, yea that looked good, softer landings can always help like was posted (Mine was terrible on the note of landings but again... the wall was JUST passed the curtain so I had to stop QUICK)

Yeah worked smooth on Facebook.
My only major advice is, right at the end, don't stop your movement at the end of your kong. Work on landing your kong so you keep running, instead of stopping all your force instantly. Otherwise, awesome.

word, try a speed to the left and then a speed to the right next time.

or a lazy pivot into a dash and into a reverse.

or kong to kong, i can kong ledges all day long haha.

my mind is constantly moving, one day my body will be strong enough to keep up.

Thank you for that brilliant insight.   :-Sarcasm

Perhaps you should explain why, or maybe even address the topic established in the original post.

they are great to carry momentum... since your arms come in contact after you are over the object, instead of using all of that energy to get you over they are used to boost you forwards...  great for chaining things and adding fluidity
