3 Minute Abs?

3 Minute Abs

I was told that if you do this routine twice a day for 3 weeks to a month you will have a 4-6 pack. I think that it can't happen and will most likely cause injury if not done properly.

The key to abs is diet.

Without even looking at this program I can tell you its crap.  Avoid it.

i doubt its legitimacy mostly because they guy that they have demo'ing doesn't even have a 4 pack, and by that programs idea basically anybody that does anything involving the core muscles would have a six pack by now. i could be wrong but it also looks looks like it doesn't seem to do anything more than your average ab workout

Parkour isn't about 3 minute workouts buddy. There is no easy way around. If you want results you have to put in hard work.

Buddy, even if you managed to get a six pack from that, it doesn't really help with strength at all...

They're just like 30 different kinds of sit-ups.

Who said Parkour IS about 3 minute workouts? I said it will not work and will cause injury. The only way to get results through Parkour is hard work, determination, and practice. NOT 3 minute workouts. And even if it did work it won't develop any other part of the body. I find the whole idea of a 3 minute workout to be a complete waste of time and a risk to anyone's well being.

that's why i hate all of those workout machines on tv (maybe with the exception of bowflex haven't personally tested it but it looks legit) they all claim to have this fast instant hot body workout that will "revolutionize" your life

This will not work for two reasons.

Two of the most important things that come into play for getting abs are Cardiovcascular Exercise and Diet, so just doing abdominal exercises wouldn't quite work. Men need around 6-7 percent bodyfat to have visible abdominals while women need to have 10-12 percent.

I wouldn't say CV exercise is important for getting abs.  High intensity exercise with good diet will help a ton ut high intensity doesnt necessarily mean cardiovascular...most people say "cardio" when they mean "long slow distance" which doesn't really help very much with "getting abs".

Your numbers are a bit off too.  I have visible abs with about 12-13% BF.  It depends on the person but a more reasonable estimate would be 8-10% body fat for men and ~15% on women.  A woman has an easier time obtaining abs than a man, ironically, due to the fact that their fat deposition tends to lean towards the theighs, buttocks and breasts rather than the stomach.

Thanks for the corrections.  ;D

I have been getting most of my information off of bodybuilders.com so I do things a little bit differently haha. I bodybuilded for about a year, so I have to adjust to more bodyweight exercises and such instead of lifting, but I always enjoyed BW better than Weight Training.

We are proponents of BW and Weight Training here.  Keep reading our forums and our opinions become clear pretty quickly ;)

We mostly push the core lifts (squat, DL, OH press) and olympic lifts (jerk, clean, snatch) for the posterior chain or "lower body" as well as BW progressions for the upperbody, in terms of strength.

Our "cardio" of choice is metcons and/or High Intensity Interval Training rather than long-slow distance...unless the traceur has a distance-in-time goal they would like to hit.

 (squat, DL, OH press)

These create great core strength in quick time. These are the best if you want a stronger core.

They do work the core quite a bit but are called the core lifts because they work the whole body.  I like calling them the core lifts because I feel they should be the core of any respectable workout program.

I could not agree more, if you want fast results dont do parkour, it takes a long time to master
