Just build up momentum, if you stop... the flow is gone.  Find an area with potential, practice on stuffs, just to get comfortable with the environment.  Put some good music on and go.

How, ^ that is very complete.

I think of flow like achieving something special, as in video games, art, sports, ideas ect; naturally.
Example,
If someone asks me: "How did you do that?"; I would not really know how I did the thing;
I just know I got from point A to B, or pulled something from some "instinctive" ability.

Anyway that's my thoughts, enjoy

Its like in CODWaW, I always know when there's a zombie behind me without any sound or other indicator. Hmm...

It's not really something you consciously do...  If you TRY to flow, it will looked hesitant because you are going to be thinking...

The Flow is almost an acquired thing...  You get an arsenal of moves and just know the entrance and exit of each... after some practice of each individual move, you will natural start to link them together in a way that makes sense to your body, Subconsciously... You won't even know that you're doing it until a friend points it out...

(Well, that is how I experienced it, everyone else experiences PK/FR differently so it may be entirely wrong for you lol, who knows...)

i dont agree with the first line. i believe that u SHOULD be thinking while doing parkour to obtain "flow". you should be thinking of, not only the obstical up next, but the one you are overcomming, if overcomming, and the one after the next obstical. not only should you think about the obsticals, but you should also think about you foot placement, what foot to step with, what hand to place, ect...

eventually you will get the hang of processing all of that in a short amount of time, and not only will it help you at the time you are doing this, it will help you on new obsticals that you havent touched on.

thats what i believe.

yea I guess you are right.  What I meant was that, if you have all of the neccesary moves under your belt, then flowing will come naturally...  you definately should be thinking of what youa re doing at all times.

i totally agree, i have a short attention span though. i usually think of just the upcoming obstacle ahead of me. then i quickly think where to go and repeat on a one by one basis. unless theres a main goal like the end of the property line or the street that i can see, then thats always in my head first and foremost.

in the midst of vaults i tend to let my body carry me, purely instinctual at this point. like today when i was going to get my stuff and leave i vaulted a railing and my foot got stuck under it. instead of panicking and eat shit, i simply transferred my weight and did a reverse vault.

it all happen so quick that by the time i landed i started to laugh at how cool it was that my body can do that.

sometimes something feels like instinct but, you really are just processing it really fast. if you think about thinking about it you realize you are thinking about it.

weird huh?

yea I love it...  My math teacher said that it is the same way with math (Don't worry about HOW we got onto the topic of PK lol)

Honestly...  doing things like (For those who know basic algebra) 2x + 3 = 5 you do so fast in your head (Most of the times) that you don't even think that you are thinking about it...

But yea... it becomes like walking...  you are completely aware that you are doing it AND completely aware of your foot placement, but you do it so much and are so accustomed to it that you do it naturally
