Going barefoot before using Feiyues helps "break-in" you feet

Theres a french version of feiyue. they are more fashion-oriented and sell for like 60/70 bucks. :/

you are right about the WTF you will get though if you get a subdued color, say like black, they are hard to notice and you may need to actually point them out to people but then they will never miss them...Great shoe to run in though feels great..

well i say they wear pretty quickly, ive had mine for prolly around a month and the bottoms are quite warn and i REALLY havent done much in them (mostly wallruns on painted cement-brick walls

i mean they didnt start too thick, and maybe this is because i got used to my nikes, but they feel as if theyll have a hole in them within the next mile or two

These sound sweet. I'm wondering -- Can I wear these every day, and can I bike in them?

I've got some fivefinger kso's, too, and now I can't wear heavy shoes, but I need something to bike in and to give my kso's a break to be washed.

Thanks!

you can ride a bike with em on but if youre not used to it, feeling the pedals under your feet might be weird

if you have some vibrams youre prolly used to it though so it shouldnt be a problem

Been using these for about a month now and I LOVE them. I got them at a martial arts store by my house for $19~. My 2c, hopefully some stuff that hasn't been said yet:

 * I spend a lot of time barefoot (dance, circus) and wearing shoes drives me nuts. These things are like bare feet++

 * The soles are really thin, but the shoes are pretty roomy (I have sorta wide feet for a woman and have no problems with these) so you can add a Dr. Shoals arch support insole thing. As soon as I did that, these went from being great to being awesome.

 * LADIES: These are dudes width (a dude's normal width shoe is equivalent to a "wide" women's shoe) but I didn't find that to be a problem. If you had really narrow feet you'd probably have trouble.

 * Since they're so thin, one bad landing can take you off your feet for the night :/ So... don't land badly! (And use a heel cushion insert)

uggboots are not proper for parkour??

nikes will do just fine as long as you dont purposely go through a few feet of snow

Don't use a heel cushion insert, arch support, orthotic, or anything else of that kind. That would be totally counterproductive to the purpose of this shoe, which is to provide as little protection and support as possible, and as much sensitivity as possible without dropping the extra ~70 bucks to get Fivefingers.

@Rita: Ugg boots? What the hell? Are you like a company representative spamming the boards?

They do wear pretty quickly from when you get them, but it plateaus after a while, just when it seems like you'll get a hole in them.

that did happen...thankfully

but then

the rubber started to fracture, and i got a hole in the heel.....but that was like three months or so with 15 dollar shoes... so no complaints

im thinking someone should ban this rita chick, every post she made is about ugg boots.....

Overall, I agree with the show review about Feiyues. It's pretty much feels like you're barefoot, but with added protection when wearing them.
The grip wears off after awhile, which is the only negative. But for $20 shoes, I think they're a great buy if you want to improve your technique for landings, jumps, etc.
Training is not about instant gratification. Anyone looking for constant progress will not stick with training for long. The essence of training is the experience of the training, and what you learn about yourself through it.

I'm a 11.5 in regular shoes, so I ordered a 46 in these hoping they would fit. 46 equates to a 12. Those were too big. I moved down to a 45 (equates to 11), and the rubber was too thick in the right shoe only and my toe jams into the front of it. It is also very uncomfortable. VERY frustrating. I don't know if I'm just wasting my time with these or not, cause these are such good reviews about them. I'm very confused about what I should do with these shoes. I already tried out the Nike Dart IV to no success. This shoe hunt is becoming very frustrating.

I had a similar problem, but not quite as extreme.  I'm in between sizes, but one of them was close enough to work.  I recently got Vibrams though, so the feiyues are collecting dust now.
they will stretch a little as you wear them, but if they are jamming your toe, I don't think they'll stretch enough to be comfortable.

Vibrams!
