Traveling Kong
« on: November 17, 2005, 04:55:33 PM »
this vault is akin to  a lazy(or thief not sure which is which.) you approach the object at an angle and instead of going feet first as you would with a lazy, you go head first(hand closest to object touching first) and switch hands as you pass over the middle and keep on running...hope this makes sense and is accurate thank you...not sure of french name...whether or not there is even a french name for this movement I don't know either.

You just said:

i mean we don't have a rail kong and a picnic tabele kong do we? no we just have kong ( or saut de chat if you prefer).

I think you were on to something. Have you noticed that there is still no Kong/Cat Jump/Saut de chat on the lexicon yet?

And I don't think the French have a seperate name for that, as sdc covers that whole range of motion. Maybe they're so good because they don't spend so much valuable time giving everything names?

Just a thought.

yeah I see how I am contradictory there but I thought this technique was different enough since you don't place both hands on the object at the same time, tuck or head straight at the object like a normall kong... but if I am wrong it is fine to delete this.... I think it would be a good idea though to provide definitions for the .. Ialso think it would be a good idea to have the variations of each technique in the "mother" technique's lexicon  as well as a definition for the variations different enough to merit one

It is a kong but traveling sideways to the object. You have to travel and put one hand over the other.  There is nothing turn vaultish about it.

ok you can modify existing moves so give it ur own name or call it a modified(The name of the modified move.) I mean when i add a 360 to my kong its a different move like what i call the axis kong. because i spin sideways like the earth.  ;D

this thread peaked with "The what you talking about willis" reference(well played fallen... well played). Personally i don't think we should get too specific with the names (axis kong??) because their only purpose is to be able to talk about them. Remeber people its not the moves that make it parkour, its the mindset. Case in point, buildering in some cases is parkour, now good luck trying to do a kong while your climbing a building.

I modded this one.  A traveling kong turnvault.  OR a traveling turnvault.  Works good and are alot easyer and more effecent then lazy turns.
