Something-ed Left Ankle
« on: May 31, 2009, 06:26:03 PM »
Date of Injury: 18 May '09
Time of Injury: Approx 11:45 Eastern
Age: 17 years
Name: Josh
Location: State College, PA
Years of practice: .75 yr
Training time: 4-6hrs/week
Exercise exp: Rugby, general weight training and Yoga
Location where injury occurred: Downtown, next to a parking garage
Conditions: overcast, slightly humid
What you were doing / trying to do when injury occurred?
Precisions (Bench to curb) and Idle conversation
Where any other people involved? no
Part of body:
Ankle, sprain or strain likely. Pain severity, 2 or 3 in my opinion. Walking/jogging/two foot jumps and landing uninhibited, wall running and high stress one foot movements inhibited. Doesn't constantly hurt, but lateral ankle movements and full body weight pressure don't go unpunished. Pressure sensitive below inner left ankle joint. Rest of foot fine.
Did you see a doctor for diagnosis? no...
Did you get X-rays or MRI's? no...  :-[
Picture of the injury:
N/A. not much to see anyways.
Could you / how could you have avoided the injury?
Should have focused more on the transfer, less conversation. Also should have landed better.
Date / type / severity of your last injury?
N/A other than blisters and scrapes. Not that those are real injuries.
Notes on the experience?
Less focus = more likely to get hurt doing routine exercises.
