I tried it... the Principal was new and also hateful... he was so closed minded about things... I think he is loosening up though... I'm gonna try it for next year (Last year woo)...

Just make sure that you explain what it is, that it is a Discipline not a sport, it is all about respect for people and environment alike, etc.

I know I always hate people thinking that parkour is a sport. Plus, my principal shows a lot of respect and i think i can teach people a lot about parkour and restraint.

ok just to let ya know,

it dosent have to be approved by your school  (unless you parkour during school)  (yes i used parkour as a verb :P)
would be nice though

you can always get freinds from school  and find a place to hangout and train.
before or after school

Too bad though, that the thing about hosting an open club, is that many assholes, and just general people you don't want in there will join, some just to tick you the f#ck off. It happened when my friend tried to create a club, he closed it in a few months because of those certain assholes.

That's true, but those same assholes might go and lie to the principal, saying that, he only will let his friends join and not other people, causing it too be shut down by the principal :[.

hmm thats true Meka. But maybe he wants to reach out to strangers and show them the great art of Parkour. And through the school system, it's the perfect way to do that.

Hmmm.... I'm relatively new to the parkour/freerunning scene but I've already considered trying to find traceurs at school and start up a club. I don't know how that would be done but I've got some friends in SGA (in college they do more than just have a position :P) that could probably help out with some of that. Should I also talk to a shop or something to see about sponsoring the school team... I don't even know where to start with that aspect of it. Anyone got any advice?

first, if you can start a club thats good. then, compete if there are more teams. If your good, try to get a small sponsor.

How do you compete in doing parkour???? I really have no idea how one would accomplish this. Just like have an obstacle course set up? And go through it and whoever has the fastest time?

Parkour isn't a religion, nor a moral code.

Truthfully, I believe you both understood that he wasn't meaning it in a religious sense. I believe he meant it as, parkour is a great way to help you through mental and physical problems, so it's the light you can turn to when you can't find your way out of a problem (darkness). Sorry, for any misunderstanding and bringing this off-topic. :[
