Oh my God, so many named techniques being thrown around in this thread! Honestly there's only like five useful vaults: Kong, Turn, Lazy, Speed, and Reverse. Pretty much all of the others mentioned are either variations or combinations of these.
If you try to memorize and seperately learn each of those individual variations, you're going to end up confusing yourself and getting trapped by names. Just go out, practice the basic techniques, and play around with them in your own time. Exploring the movement for yourself is the only way to truly learn, and in time you'll find yourself adapting to your environment and naturally doing some of those other things as well.
Keep it simple!
i agree SOOO MUCH D: ppl abuse parkour and freerunning definitions! I mean yes THEY ARE BOTH MOVEMENT but really i like the ORIGINAL DEFINITION we (alot of us) followed before.
some nubs have been calling ME a noob because i dont do flips/trick vaults , some people said im not a real "parkourist" ( in know, its traceur, just quoting )and i've enjoyed parkour for years...!!!! i just tell them that im not their performance monkey and that i do pk for ME not them...
Right on Bro..... I don't do flips or tricks, But I do Parkour. and I do it for me, not for bystandersor other people. If later on when I master the basic tequniqes and get good at moving with the Flow, then I might try learning to flip now and then.
I say anyone who says they are a "Parkourist" doesn't know the true definition or reason behind Parkour. They have to realize that Competition is not allowed in Parkour, its just doesn't belong. If Traceurs try to flip because they were dared or forced you to through competition, thats the time people start getting hurt. Go at your own pace, and the only opponent you should have is yourself and the obstacle.
