I was mainly wondering your source because, I had heard that too from an agility course I took part of. In terms it decreases lung capacity which minimizes anaerobic or aerobic functions.

I see no way that carbonated beverages could lessen lung capacity...so i would really need to see some more evidence of that -- like a study or something -- in order to believe it.

That said, lung capacity has no impact on anaerobic exercise.  Anaerobic, by definition, means that oxygen is playing a minimal role in energy production.

Well, we're all aerobic by nature.

The very fact that even though a 1 RM is surely ALL anaerobic doesn't mean that our bodies don't start upping breathing rate, stress hormones, and heart rate as well....

So in reality, it's kinda convoluted a bit. :p

But yeah, carbonated beverages.... just try to stay away even though they may not necessarily be unhealthy (most are.. aka soda).
